Dongguan Street
Dongguan Street is the most representative historical street in Yangzhou. It stretches from the ancient canal in the east to Guoqing Road in the west, with a total length of 1,122 meters. The original street pavement was paved with long slabs. This street used to be not only the hub of Yangzhou's water and land transportation, but also the center of commerce, handicraft industry, and religious culture. He Garden
He Garden is located at No. 66 Xu Ningmen Street, Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province. It is a national key cultural relic protection unit, a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, and one of the first 20 in the country. One of the key parks. He Garden, also known as "Jixiao Villa", was built by He Zhifan during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty. The original site of He Garden was an ancient garden during the Qianlong period, named Shuanghuai Garden. He Garden is known as "the first garden in the late Qing Dynasty". Among them, the Stone Mountain House is the work of Master Shi Tao, which is the only one in the world.
Ge Garden
Ge Garden was built in the 23rd year of Jiaqing in the Qing Dynasty (1818 AD) by Huang Zhiyun, the general manager of Lianghuai Salt Industry. In 1988, Geyuan was awarded the third batch of "National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units" by the State Council. Ge Garden is based on bamboo and stone. Even the character "ge" in the name of the garden is taken from half of the character bamboo, which corresponds to the various bamboos in the garden. The owner's taste and mind are all in it. In addition, it was named because every three bamboo leaves on the top of the bamboo can form the Chinese character "Ge", and the shadow on the white wall is also the Chinese character "Ge".
Ancient Canal
The excavation of the ancient canal began in the Spring and Autumn Period. In order to develop exchanges with the outside world, each vassal state built canals in the areas under its control to communicate with the natural water system. The Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal is the earliest, longest and largest canal in the world. It starts from Beijing (Zhuojun) in the north and ends in Hangzhou (Yuhang) in the south, with a total length of about 1,764 kilometers and a history of 786 years. At present, the navigation mileage is only 883 kilometers. The Beijing-Hangzhou Canal has played a huge role in the economic and cultural development and exchanges between the north and south of China, especially in the development of the industrial and agricultural economy and the rise of cities and towns along the line.
