Why do you recommend everyone to travel to Yuncheng?
1- Yuncheng has many cultural attractions, many of which are listed as national key cultural protection units.
This September is my first visit to Yuncheng. Before I set out, the impression of this place often stayed in the impression of Guandi Temple, but in fact, Yuncheng has not only Guandi Temple, but also Yongle Palace, the essence of China murals, Ruicheng Town God Temple built in the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, and Wang Guangren Temple, the second oldest wooden structure building in China in Tang Dynasty. Perhaps compared with many cities, it is natural here. But the cultural scenery will definitely surprise you.
2- All scenic spots in Yuncheng are open to the public free of charge on weekdays this year.
Because of the special situation this year, Shanxi Province decided to open its scenic spots to the public free of charge on weekdays, and Yuncheng was no exception. It can be said that in this case, that is to say, traveling in Yuncheng can save hundreds of dollars in ticket fees, which is cost-effective.
3- Although the food is not famous enough, you can also taste the unique Yuncheng flavor.
Although many people are not familiar with Yuncheng snacks, in fact, the food here is also very rich, which may not be comparable to Pingyao ancient city and Datong in terms of types, but Xiezhou mutton paomo, mutton offal rotten, twist and so on will also let you taste Yuncheng flavor.
These are the highlights of Ma Qian Yuncheng trip. Compared with Pingyao ancient city in the province, there may be fewer tourists, and even the up-and-coming Datong tourists are much more than here, but this city will also become a treasure trove for minority cultural travelers.
So how many days is suitable for your first visit to Yuncheng?
Although Yuncheng is not very famous, there are actually many scenic spots here, especially those listed as national key cultural protection units, but these cultural protection units are basically very scattered, so if you want to visit it at one time, you may not finish it in a week. Then you can focus on shopping, and it will take 2-3 days to get a card in Yuncheng and its surrounding areas.
The above picture shows the scenic spots that Yuncheng and its surrounding areas can pay attention to, and the numbers are sorted by personal recommendation.
What are the places worth visiting in Yuncheng, Shanxi?
Yongle Palace Horse Stop Recommended Index: Five Stars
This should be one of the favorite attractions that Ma Bing visited when he stayed in Yuncheng. Why do you like it? In addition to the architectural style of "French architecture" in Song Dynasty and "reduced columns" in Liao and Jin Dynasties, what surprised me most was the map of Sanqing Hall in Yuan Dynasty, with many figures and rich themes. More than 300 immortals were portrayed around the hall, and I was amazed at first sight. Chongyang Hall can see another kind of painting art.. The cartoon shows the story of Wang Zhongyang's "seven real people" from birth to enlightenment. In short, if you are a friend who is interested in architecture and ancient painting art, Yongle Palace will definitely surprise you.
Because you can't take pictures in the temple, I searched some pictures online for everyone to enjoy.
Xiezhou Guandi Temple Horse Stop Recommended Index: four and a half stars.
Jiezhou Guandi Temple is the second only scenic spot to Yongle Palace when I was traveling in Yuncheng, Shanxi. Why do I like it? First of all, it is the largest existing Guandi Temple in China, and the largest of the more than 20,000 Guandi temples in Shanxi. In my opinion, the scenic spots of Guandi Temple are much richer than Yongle Palace. Here, you can see not only Kangxi's personal inscription "Bing Yi Gankun" and Gan Long's imperial calligraphy tablet "Yushulou", but also Si Long glass screen in Ming Dynasty, Chongning Hall built in Northern Song Dynasty, and Spring and Autumn Building in Wanli Period of Ming Dynasty. It can be said that if you want to see architecture, then Guandi Temple is really a good place to go.
The above picture shows the architecture, archway and caisson of Guandi Temple.
Wang Guangren Miaoma Station Recommended Index: four and a half stars.
In fact, in the eyes of many people, perhaps this small Wang Guangren Temple is not worth visiting, because it is really too small, and the whole building complex can be visited in 15 minutes. But if you know that this building was built after nanzenji, that is to say, it is the second oldest wooden structure in China in the Tang Dynasty, then you will be pleasantly surprised. Today's Wang Guangren Temple is a renovated building. The wall and the sculpture inside look very new, with the emphasis on its wooden structure.
The picture above shows the wooden structure of Wang Guangren Temple in Tang Dynasty.
Ruicheng Chenghuang Temple Machetong Recommended Index: four stars.
It can be said that this scenic spot is not popular. Even when I arrived, its door was locked, but fortunately there was a staff member to help me open the door and enter. The deserted scenic spots look a little depressed, but what? There are many buildings in it. These buildings are very rich. Buildings in Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties can be seen. In my opinion, it is like an architectural museum, and all kinds of architectural styles are seen at once. Xiangting was built in Yuan Dynasty, Xiandian was built in Ming Dynasty, rebuilt in Qing Dynasty, main hall was built in Northern Song Dynasty, and bedroom and east and west wing rooms were built in Qing Dynasty. Then such a small scenic spot becomes colorful in an instant.
Other attractions recommended by 3-4 stars.
In fact, Yuncheng and its surrounding areas hide many national key cultural relics protection units. Based on the principle of convenient transportation, we can focus on the boating Zen Master Tower, Liang Qing Temple, Shundi Mausoleum Temple and the ruins of ancient Weicheng. However, under the aura of Yongle Palace and Jiezhou Guandi Temple, these scenic spots are not as good as the key cultural relics in China, so if you have extra time, you can make a card.
How to plan a 2-day tour of Yuncheng?
Day 1 day: Jiezhou Guandi Temple+Shundi Mausoleum Temple
How to get to Guandi Temple in Jiezhou: There is a shuttle bus passing Guandi Temple Scenic Area in front of Yuncheng Railway Station. Remember it's a yellow minibus with frequent flights. If you are not sure, you can ask the bus driver next to the railway station, and they will tell you where to take it.
The scenic spot of Guandi Temple in Jiezhou is not small, so you can take 2 hours to walk slowly. After walking, you can wait for the return bus at the roadside where you get off, about 20-30 minutes. After returning to the railway station, you can take the bus 106 to the Shundi Mausoleum.
The next day: Yuncheng-Ruicheng Yongle Palace-Wang Guangren Temple-Ruicheng Shousheng Temple-Chenghuang Temple
The shuttle buses from Yuncheng to Ruicheng found on the Internet are all taken at Yuncheng bus station, but the frequency is very few, so it is inconvenient to take about 4-5 times a day. Fortunately, there are many minivans going to Ruicheng at the railway station. Remember to tell the driver that you are going to Yongle Palace when you get on the bus, and he will drop you off halfway. After getting off the bus, you can walk 15 minutes to reach the scenic spot.
You can also spend 1.5-2 hours visiting Yongle Palace. After that, you can walk to Wang Guangren Temple. It takes about 20 minutes to walk and 40 minutes to go back and forth. After visiting Wang Guangren Temple, I walked back to Yongle Palace, rented an electric car here, rode to Ruicheng Shousheng Temple, and spent 20 minutes visiting this ancient pagoda, a key cultural relic in China. Then continue to ride an electric car to Ruicheng Chenghuang Temple. There are many scenic spots to see and you can spend 1 hour sightseeing. After seeing the Chenghuang Temple, you can walk to Ruicheng Bus Station or take a business car back to Yuncheng Railway Station.
The above is the tour route of Yuncheng, a relatively small tourist city in Shanxi, and Ma stopped sharing it. I believe you will like this small and beautiful city after reading it. If you have any other questions, you can leave a message.
