Ningbo’s most famous ancient town
Yinjiang Ancient Town.
Yinjiang Ancient Town was founded in 401 AD and has a history of more than 1,600 years. It is one of the oldest ancient towns in Ningbo. In the town, there is Tashan Weir, a national key cultural relic protection unit, as well as many buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties to the Republic of China, with prosperous culture. The town is surrounded by mountains on three sides, with Yinjiang River and Zhangxi River passing through it. On the outskirts of the town, there are a group of ancient trees on the banks of the Qingjiang River and the ancient roads of Shanghua Mountain, with beautiful scenery.
Characteristics of Yinjiang Ancient Town
As a famous cultural town with a history of thousands of years, Yinjiang has rich historical and cultural relics: the Yinjiang Temple Fair that has lasted for thousands of years, provincial intangible culture It is a key heritage protection project. There are three temple fairs in a year, namely "March 3rd", "June 6th" and "October 10th". Among them, "October 10th" is the most grand; here is a thousand-year-old weir - Taishan Weir (National Security Bureau); ancient quarries - Nanbei Dan; ancient bridges - Guangxi Bridge, Xuanci Bridge; Langguandi Ancient Building Complex and many other ancient building complexes, as well as the beautiful ancient trees on the bank of Qingjiang River, etc.
Tashan Weir has been known as a miracle since ancient times. "The stone was built as a weir between two mountains." The Tashan Weir built under the supervision of the county magistrate Wang Yuanwei in the seventh year of Taihe in the Tang Dynasty is one of the four famous ancient water conservancy projects in my country. After more than 1,170 years of exposure to wind, frost, rain, snow and floods, it is still basically intact and continues to play its functions of blocking salt water, storing fresh water and draining waterlogging.
The Guangxi Bridge in the ancient town has a particularly beautiful ancient charm. This ancient bridge was built in the Ming Dynasty. It was a stone single-hole stone arch bridge built to facilitate the north-south transportation in Yinjiang Town and mobilize the people. It is a supporting project for its mountain weir. The ancient bridge that has gone through vicissitudes of life seems to tell people about its past glory.
