Analysis on the Characteristic Development of Tourist Souvenirs
Abstract: As an emotional bond between tourists and tourist destinations, tourist souvenirs have become an important symbol to enhance the influence of tourist destinations and tourist services. However, many tourist attractions lack an important understanding of tourist souvenirs, which leads to some problems in the development and design of tourist souvenirs. This paper analyzes the main problems existing in the development of tourist souvenirs, and puts forward some strategic suggestions for the design of tourist souvenirs from the perspective of characteristic development.

With the rapid development of China's economy and the improvement of people's consumption level, more and more people have become a member of the tourism army, and tourism has also flourished. Tourist souvenirs refer to goods with local characteristics purchased by tourists in the process of traveling. It is a special commodity with regional and commemorative complementation and cultural and entertainment blending. Tourist souvenirs are an important symbol to enhance the influence of tourist destinations and tourist services, an important commodity to boost tourism income, and an important carrier to publicize the regional characteristics and culture of tourist destinations. However, many tourist attractions lack understanding of the importance of tourist souvenirs, which leads to some problems in the development and design of tourist souvenirs.
First, the problems in the development of tourist souvenirs
1. The cultural connotation of tourist souvenirs has not been fully explored.
Tourist souvenirs are different from ordinary commodities. They are the material carriers of local culture and the emotional ties connecting tourists and tourist destinations. The development of tourist souvenirs is related to the sustainable development of local tourism, so it is particularly important to develop characteristic tourist souvenirs. At present, the tourist souvenir market is chaotic, and the products have no characteristics, lack of individuality and obvious homogenization, which seriously affects consumers' desire to buy.
3. The development of tourist souvenirs ignores the needs of consumers.
With the improvement of consumption level, more and more tourists are no longer satisfied with mass-produced souvenirs in the market. They prefer different and unique products, so the design of tourist souvenirs should be based on the needs of consumers. However, at present, the design and development of tourist souvenirs in the market only consider the reduction of production costs and the improvement of economic benefits, and fail to accurately grasp and meet the needs of different tourists.
