It contains paintings of early Aboriginal people and precious cultural relics unearthed from the "Great Zimbabwe Site". There are also cathedrals, universities, Rufaro Stadium and art galleries. The lush Kopi Mountain is located in the west of the city. In April 1980, the then Prime Minister Mugabe personally lit the eternal torch here to commemorate the soldiers who sacrificed heroically for independence and freedom. From the top of the mountain you can have a panoramic view of Harare. 30 kilometers southwest of the city is the National Park, where dense jungles and clear lakes make it a good place for swimming, boating, and viewing African animals and plants. The southeastern and western suburbs of the city are industrial zones and one of the largest tobacco distribution markets in the world. The suburbs here are called "Gowa" by locals, which means "red earth".
BALANCEROCK is an important tourist attraction in Harare. It is made up of several superimposed boulders weighing several tons. The scenery is very spectacular when the sun sets. This area is very rich in natural wildlife resources. In particular, this low-lying plain is home to many mammals during the dry season, such as the endangered black rhinoceros, Nile crocodile, etc., as well as more than 6,500 African elephants and bushland. More than 380 species of birds inhabit the area. This is a rare natural heritage for mankind. In 1982, it was included in the "World Cultural and Natural Heritage Protection List" by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.
Waterfalls
Victoria Falls
Victoria Falls in Harare is located on the Zambezi River that forms the national border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. Niagara Falls and Niagara Falls in North America are collectively known as the three world-famous waterfalls. Victoria Falls was discovered by British explorer Bedo Livingstone in 1855. It was named "Victoria Falls" after the Queen of England at the time, and is now renamed "Mossy Oya Zhenya". The local dialect means "thundering water mist". Victoria Falls is in a zigzag shape and stretches for tens of kilometers. The entire waterfall is divided into five sections by rocks, from west to east they are "Devil Falls", "Main Falls", "Horseshoe Falls", "Rainbow Falls" and "East Falls". Devil's Falls is the most majestic and makes people dare not get close; the main waterfall is about 180 meters wide, has a drop of about 120 meters, and has the largest flow; Horseshoe Falls is shaped like a horseshoe; Rainbow Falls, in addition to a waterfall like a giant curtain, also often See the colorful rainbow floating in the green valley. These five waterfalls all plunge into a deep pool only 400 meters wide, forming columnar clouds hundreds of meters high. The flying mist and sound waves can be carried up to 10 kilometers away, making the sound sound like thunder and the clouds are misty. In order to facilitate tourists' viewing, the local government built a "blade bridge" between the cliffs in 1969. The bridge is about 30 meters long and 2 meters wide. It looks like a sharp blade from a distance. There is also a place called "Rainforest". Even if you come here on a sunny day, you will feel like you are in rain and fog. There is a railway bridge about 200 meters long near Shentan. The national border between Zambia and Zimbabwe is in the center of the bridge. From this bridge, you can enjoy the full view of the waterfall.
