Baotu Spring is one of the three major scenic spots in Jinan. It is located in Lixia District, Jinan City, Shandong Province, adjacent to Quancheng Square in the east and Wulongtan in the north. During his southern tour, Emperor Qianlong named Baotu Spring "the best spring in the world" because of the mellow and sweet taste of tea made from Baotu Spring water. The places of interest around Baotu Spring include Luoyuan Hall, Guanlan Pavilion, Shangzhi Hall, Li Qingzhao Memorial Hall and other attractions.

Luoyuan Hall

Luoyuan Hall is located on the north bank of Baotu Spring. It was originally called Ejiang Temple or Eying Temple. A group of buildings with three entrances was originally the site of the ancient Ejiang Temple, which originally enshrined the two daughters of Tang Yao, the wife of Dashun: Ehuang and Nvying. Around the Jin and Yuan Dynasties, it was renamed the Luzu Temple and once enshrined Lu Dongbin, a new Taoist god who became increasingly popular after the Song Dynasty. The famous writer Zeng Gong served as the prefect of Qizhou during the Xining period of the Northern Song Dynasty (1072-1073). He built two halls on the Luo River. The south hall is near the source of the Luo River, so it is called "Luoyuan Hall".

Guanlan Pavilion

Guanlan Pavilion was built in the fifth year of Tomorrow Shun (1461). The imperial eunuchs Wei and Wu came to Jinan to build a pavilion next to the spring (also said to be the governor). Hu Zuanzongjian), named "Guanlan", taking the meaning of "If you have the skill to watch water, you must watch its waves" in "Mencius·Jinxinshang". The pavilion was originally a long pavilion with four sides, semi-enclosed. Su Che, a great writer in the Song Dynasty, served as the secretary of Qizhou in the sixth year of Xining (1073). He chanted many famous places and historical sites in Jinan, among which his poem "Quanquan Pavilion" is still famous.

Shangzhi Hall

Shangzhi Hall, also known as Yulan Courtyard, is located in the northeast of Baotu Spring. It is a courtyard of the original Shangzhi Academy. Shangzhitang courtyard has three halls and rooms in the north and south respectively, surrounded by winding corridors in the east and west. The stream outside the courtyard runs along the corridors of the house. It is open and covered, and quiet in the bustle, which has become the characteristic of the entire courtyard. The north hall is the main building, with bamboos and plantains behind it. The spring water passes through the bamboo forest and is connected to the spring pools on both sides. The holly green hedges on the shore of the spring water in the west corridor are pleasant, and the green willows are draped on the corridor, creating a beautiful scenery of the green willow corridor.

Li Qingzhao Memorial Hall

Jinan Li Qingzhao Memorial Hall is located in Baotu Spring Park, next to Shuyu Spring. It was built in 1959 at the original Ding Gong (Ding Baozhen) ancestral hall and was renovated in 1999. The building has been expanded on a large scale and now covers an area of ??more than 4,000 square meters. The memorial hall adopts the architectural style of the Song Dynasty, and the entire building layout is exquisite and harmonious.
