Whenever I see photos from my trip to Chishui, I think of climbing Foguang Rock with my parents.

Foguang Rock is a scenic spot in Chishui, Guizhou. When we came to the foot of Foguang Rock, we were shocked by the scene in front of us: we saw a huge arc-shaped cliff. The color of the rock was brown-red, and it was nearly a thousand meters wide. A slender waterfall fell from a high cliff. White water mist flew down from the top of the cliff and wet our clothes. Many tourists take photos here and then return.

We found a trail at the foot of the mountain that leads up the mountain. Such a majestic landscape, how great it would be to be able to climb up to see the scenery at the top of the mountain! Our family of three unanimously decided to go hiking! The slope of the stone plank road is very steep. After every 20 to 30 steps, there is a small platform where you can take a rest. We climbed a few sections and were panting from exhaustion. I saw my mother's face turned red. Looking up, the stone steps seem to stretch into the clouds. How long will it take to go up? Some tourists could not climb anymore and went down the mountain. Mom said: "Xian Yin, if you are too tired, let's go back too!" I said: "No, I must climb up!" Dad stretched out his thumb and said, "How brave!" We continued to walk up.

The water pool at the foot of Foguang Rock and the tourists are getting farther and farther away. We can see the top of the waterfall without looking up. But our physical strength is getting worse and worse. Everyone is too tired to speak. It would be nice to lie down and rest for a while. But we still insisted on climbing up, encouraged each other, walked and rested, turned around a mountain col, and finally climbed to the top! The mountain breeze blows against my face, it feels so cool! The moso bamboo on the top of the mountain is so beautiful! Foguang Rock is on the opposite mountain, and it's not as high as us! We forgot about our fatigue and shouted with excitement: Dashan, we are victorious!

I haven’t climbed a mountain for a long time since I came back from Chishui, but my mother told me that there are still many “mountains” waiting for me in life and study. As long as I persist and don’t give up, I will succeed.
