Jinan connects Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei to the north and the Yangtze River Delta to the south. Jinan is located in the central and western part of Shandong Province, bordering on Mount Tai in the south, across the Yellow River in the north, with mountains on its back and water on its back. It borders Liaocheng in the southwest, Dezhou and Binzhou in the north, Zibo in the east, and Tai'an in the south.
