How to use this self-service customs clearance system?

It is recommended that you download the mobile APP(canboard-e declaration) in China before you leave. It doesn't matter if you can't download this APP. Airport self-service machines can also be filled in on the spot, and Chinese options are provided.

Fill in the electronic entry APPlication on the mobile app software in advance on the day of travel:

1. Click "My Declaration" to start the declaration.

2. Select the airport that is about to enter the customs and "arrive at the airport". At present, only Vancouver Airport and Ottawa Airport are open. For students and travelers from China, you can only choose Vancouver (YVR).

3. Choose the destination (one out of three):

America only (directly from America),

Only in other countries (direct flights from other countries) Select this option for direct flights from China.

Depart from China via other countries in the United States and transit through other countries.

4. Click "Confirm" in the lower right corner.

5. Click on the bottom left to add the name of the inbound passenger "Add New Passenger".

6. Enter a nickname at will, such as Jason.

7. Question "Are you a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident" Are you a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident? If you are an international student or a tourist, please return "No".

8. Choose your place of residence.

If it is your first time to go to school, please choose "China, China, People's Republic of China (PRC)".

If you are not a first-time student, but still hold a valid study permit, please choose Canada.

If parents visit relatives or travel, please choose "China, China, People's Republic of China (PRC)".

9. Click Confirm in the lower right corner to confirm.

10. Select the travel purpose.

Personal visits include visiting relatives, traveling and attending meetings.

Do you carry prohibited meat and other foods (raw and cooked meat, fish, seafood, eggs and dairy products, fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts, flowers, insects, plants, trees, living animals and other animal and plant derivatives)? As an international student, you can't dress carefully, so the answer is definitely no.

Do you carry more than 10000 Canadian dollars (or equivalent) in cash? This needs to be filled in truthfully. If you carry more cash than 10000, you must declare it to the customs. If it exceeds, fill in Yes; If not, please fill in No. ..

Besides checked baggage, are there any other things you can carry with you? If not, write no.

Have you ever been to or will go to a farm in Canada before coming to Canada? Students can fill in no directly.

15. The last step: check and confirm the contents filled in before. If you confirm, click Create QR Code in the lower right corner.

Scan entry:

When you get off the plane at Vancouver Airport, you can find a self-service power on and off, you can directly fill in the QR code and passport filled in on the machine, and you can also scan your mobile phone. Face matching recognition at the airport will identify whether it is consistent with passport photos. After the machine is confirmed, a document will be printed and handed over to the customs officers for entry and use.

Students will check the identity and reasons of immigrants through CBSA, the first customs enquiry window, and ask for relevant documents, such as passports and admission notices.
