Taiwan Province province travel guide

For a long time, many cyclists will ask me about riding around Taiwan on various occasions. In my opinion, the road conditions in Taiwan Province Province and Chinese mainland are quite different. If there is still time, I'd better try to read all my travel notes, and I will definitely talk about them in detail.

1. How many days does it take to ring the stage?

At present, it is quite popular for riders to play while walking in Taiwan Province Province, and the journey from 12 to 15 days is quite common. However, according to the habit of cycling in Chinese mainland, it is reasonable to ride the whole journey to 120 days in about 9 days if it is about 10 km per day. The 7-day extreme walking advertised on the Internet is actually not impossible when the weather is sunny and there is no strong wind. I walked 180 km on the first day, which was not bad. The key to all this depends on your own physical strength and gameplay.

2. Procedures for free travel.

This is really-don't ask me again. This thing changes at any time, and I did it myself in a muddle, so my experience may be wrong (in the seventh article below, there are some parts about the process of my entry permit, you can see if it is helpful. )。 I remember someone posted a detailed post on the Internet, or you can directly consult Weibo (@ Taiwan Province Free Travel, @ Taiwan Province Free Travel Talent @ Taiwan Province Island Travel Network), Sina Weibo and some enthusiastic free travel officials, which is quick and convenient.

About how my car got there.

In fact, almost all the Giant and Merida car shops in Chinese mainland provide this service, which is to help you take apart your bicycle (in fact, the front wheel and handlebar are removed) and put it in a big cardboard box when leaving the factory. When packed, it is a piece of luggage. There is no problem with plane consignment, which is very reliable. However, it should be noted that the average airline can only check one piece of luggage at a time, so it is necessary to put all the tools, sabers and other iron products in this carton, otherwise they will be confiscated when boarding.

4. How to load the car after you come back.

This is a question that a friend of mine just asked me. I was in Taoyuan, but I found a giant direct store, probably the nearest giant auto shop to Taoyuan Airport. Because it is directly operated, the service attitude here is particularly good and the types of services are complete. Not only does it provide bicycle packing service, but if you find them one day in advance, it can even help you transport your boxes to the airport. And even if you go on the same day, taking a taxi from Ganggang to the airport will cost about 300 to 400 Taiwan dollars. It should be the most convenient for drivers who end in Taoyuan to find. Their address is: Section 1, Zhuangjing Road, Taoyuan City 128 1 Building; The telephone number is: 03-34680 16, 03-3462842.

5. About the specific route.

Because cross-strait network access is really inconvenient, many cyclists are at a loss on this issue and ask me many questions. Here I will give a unified answer. In fact, I was at a loss before I left, and I didn't know how to go. What I thought at that time was that if I couldn't, I would ride to the beach and then ride all the way to the beach along the shortest route. Even if I get lost, I won't run too far. This is the stupidest way. Facts have proved that by the next day, I had basically adapted to the road conditions in Taipei. The road over there is actually very simple: the north-south direction is basically odd and the east-west direction is even. You don't have to remember their names, just remember the numbers on the road.

I found the following picture on the Internet. There are three different routes around the island. Personally, I think that according to the habits of mainland cyclists, the red route on the outermost circle should be the most popular. And myself, I basically chose this route. (Click to see the larger image, which is very clear and can be downloaded and saved. )

Let me tell you the easiest way to remember this route (completely by memory, with the update of my travel notes, there should be new details, please wait patiently).

A. Starting from Taoyuan (most mainland cyclists should fly directly to Taoyuan, so I'll put it this way), ride west first and ride to the seaside, which is the 6 1 highway. This road is expressway, with bicycle lanes and excellent road conditions. Ride south along this road. After passing through Hsinchu (I don't remember this clearly because I got lost at that time), there was no bicycle lane in this expressway, so I had to take the "Tai 17 Line" to continue southbound. The road condition of Tai 17 line is equivalent to our national highway, and the road condition is OK. Although the only time I had a flat tire happened on this road, it was through Taichung Port. There are many big trucks and the road is almost understandable.

B is at the end of line 17 and connected to line 1. Then don't think about anything, just ride all the way to the end of 1 line. Your west coast is the end of your journey. Then there is "Taiwan Province Line 26". At this time, I strongly suggest that riders take a night off after riding in Hengchun, and then corrupt in Kenting the next day. Go to the south of the border in a daze, go to Kenting Beach to see bikini girls and count the waves on the edge of the cliff. In short, it's really worth stopping here.

C. after riding the west coast, congratulations, the most beautiful east coast is here. In the picture below, you can clearly see that there are about three roads leading to the east coast. The proprietress of the homestay where I live in Hengchun also rides a bike, so she strongly recommended the southernmost one to me. That road passes through the mountains, and it is quite undulating, but the scenery is really beautiful. You can see many military facilities there, which is quite emotional.

D The east coast is close to the mountains, so there are not many riding options. No.9, 1 1, these are two expressways. Basically, it can be understood as follows: 1 1 coastal, and No.9 is close to the inland. But this fork in the road also extends from Taitung to Hualien. Taitung is in the south and Hualien is in the north, including the most famous Suhua Highway (the highway between Suao and Hualien), which actually belongs to the "Tai 9 Line" (please see the big picture showing the route above, so I won't take screenshots one by one). At that time, because of the typhoon, the line 1 1 was closed, so I took Line 9 directly. What I want to say here is that the Pacific coast on the east coast is really beautiful, but the aboriginal customs around Line 9 are also worth seeing. Anyway, when Su Hua goes to the seaside, it's better to go inland at this time. It feels good.

E. Taiwan Province Line 9, after passing Yilan, how to get there depends on your own choice. Continue to take Line 9, the road to Taipei is very close, but climbing the mountain actually requires high physical strength. It is my choice to take Line 2, walk around the northern part of Taiwan Province Island, pass by Keelung and Danshui, and finally return to Taipei. You know, I met an extremely thrilling situation on my way to Keelung. I had breakfast with the mayor at a breakfast stall in Keelung, so I wouldn't feel bored even if I was killed. . . .

F. I was in a hurry to walk from Taipei to Taoyuan, so I directly found the shortest route-Taiwan Province 1 line. In my impression, although the road is short, it is still quite ups and downs. And the scenery of this section of the road is also very general, because there is a city between the two places. It's really hard to get excited after seeing the East Coast. It is recommended that riders with plenty of time go to the seaside. There are fewer people and fewer cars, so you should be much happier when you ride a bike.
