The Wave Valley Scenic Spot is located in Longzhou Town, 22 kilometers southeast of Jingbian County, Shaanxi Province. It is a typical basin-shaped canyon. It is surrounded by red rocks, surrounded by green water, and is surrounded by red sandstone for hundreds of kilometers. The coverage is very similar to the Wave Valley in Arizona, USA.

The Arizona Wave Valley is red with white lines sandwiched between it, while the Jingbian Wave Valley is mainly red.

The rock in Wave Valley is called red sandstone, academically known as "arsenic sandstone", and geologically known as Danxia landform. It is named because the sandstone texture is like waves. Most of the red sandstone in Longzhou is covered by thick loess. After tens of millions of years of strong winds and strong erosion of seasonal heavy rains on the Loess Plateau in northern Shaanxi, the red mountains gradually emerged, and It is "carved" into various shapes by the uncanny workmanship of nature. The scenic spot is a large area, divided into three parts: the water Danxia area, the flame Danxia area, and the earth center Danxia area. The road signs are not clear. There are only two signs for "Shui Danxia District" and "Flame Danxia District". You need to find your own way.

Shuidanxia District

This area is the most recommended. There are relatively few tourists. There is water next to it. The photos have good layers and colors. It is very suitable for flying drones. If you drive here and park in the parking lot, it costs ten yuan each time. If you have any questions, just ask the villager who collected the money. Here you can see Longyan Spring, Crocodile Lake and other attractions. The tour time takes about 1 to 2 hours.

Flaming Danxia District

There are three viewing platforms, and there are many people. We strongly recommend the "Jiuqu Yellow River", which is the farthest place. The landform is very consistent with the "Wave Valley". The name is very exciting. There is sand and gravel at your feet near the cliff that is very slippery, so be careful. Tour time: about 1 hour.

Danxia District in the Center of the Earth

The tourist area is the largest and has the most concentrated tourists. There are three or four parking spots, all connected by walking planks. You can drive as far as Ximentai City and Yanjiazhaizi, and you can walk back to visit. The plank road here has not yet been repaired, and the dirt road is difficult to navigate on steep slopes and is not suitable for the elderly and children. It is recommended that you park your car at Longhuitou Scenic Spot and take the plank road tour. This part of the plank road has a steep slope and a long distance, which is relatively energy-consuming. The steps are not user-friendly and can easily slip. The tour takes about 2 hours.

Among them, walk along the plank road to the bottom and turn left. There will be cruise ships on the water near Yanjiazhai after the dock is built. Turn right and you will see the so-called line of sky. When you look at the entrance, it is very narrow inside. In addition, there may be rockfall during the rainy season and it is not safe, so we did not enter. The characteristic of this part is walking at the bottom of the canyon, and the scenery is not as good as Danxia on the water. Photography Suggestions

It is best to have a telephoto lens for photographing the details of Danxia landforms and people. If you have a drone, be sure to bring it with you. The terrain here is open and there are no obstacles, so it is very suitable for flying. If the sun shines on the day of your visit, the colors will be very beautiful. Accommodation situation

It is recommended to stay in Jingbian County. The accommodation conditions are relatively good. They are concentrated in the center of the county. It is easy to find them when you arrive. The price of a standard room is about 100-200 per night. It is relatively clean and tidy.

Jingbian County is more than 20 kilometers away from the Longzhou Danxia Wave Valley Scenic Area. It can be reached by car in half an hour. We had breakfast at 6:30 and drove there before there were many tourists. At present, there are some accommodations in the form of farmhouses near the Longzhou Danxia Wave Valley Scenic Area. The visual conditions are average, tour groups are received, and tour buses are parked at the door.
