Guangzhou has a total area of 7434.4 square kilometers, and the overall planning areas are Yuexiu, Haizhu, Liwan, Tianhe, Baiyun, Huangpu and Nansha, which are referred to as "Old Seven Districts" for short. Dongshan, Fangcun and Luogang were originally one of the old seven districts, but they were cancelled due to the merger. Nansha is a part of the new and old seven districts.

The old four districts originally referred to Yuexiu District, Dongshan District, Haizhu District and Liwan District, but after regional adjustment, the old three districts were adopted, referring to Yuexiu District, Liwan District and Haizhu District. These four new districts are Panyu District, Huadu District, Conghua District and Zengcheng District.

1. Yuexiu District

Guangzhou, located in the middle of Guangdong Province, starts from Guangzhou Avenue in the east and borders Tianhe District; South of the Pearl River, facing Haizhu District across the river; To Renmin West Road, adjacent to Liwan District; North to the foot of Baiyun Mountain, adjacent to Baiyun District.

Yuexiu District governs 18 streets, with a total registered population of1158,400 (grade 6) and a population density of 34,735 /km2. In 2005, Yuexiu District became the central city with the smallest area and the highest population density in Guangzhou.

2. Liwan District

Guangzhou is located in the west of Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, bordering Yuexiu District in the east, Baiyun District in the north and northwest, and Nanhai District in Foshan City in the west.

Liwan, commonly known as "Xiguan", is named after "Litchi Bay" and has the reputation of "one bay is green and the two sides are litchi red". Known as "Xiguan", "Litchi Bay" and "Full Moon". It has the reputation of "experiencing Lingnan culture in Guangzhou, not being in Guangzhou until Liwan". It is one of the third districts in Guangzhou.

3. Haizhu District

Haizhu District is located in the middle of Guangzhou, facing Liwan District, Yuexiu District and Tianhe District across the Pearl River in the north, and facing Huangpu District, Liwan District (including Fangcun) and Panyu District in the east, west and south, with a total area of 90.40 square kilometers. The main areas are Haizhu Island, Henan Island, Guanzhou Island and Yajisha Island.

4. Conghua District

Conghua District is located in the northeast of Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, bordering Longmen County and Zengcheng District in the east, Baiyun District in the south, Qingyuan City and Huadu District in the west, Fogang County and Xinfeng County in the north. The Tropic of Cancer passes through Taiping Town at the southern end of the territory, with mild climate and abundant rainfall.

Conghua District is famous for its rare hot springs, and has the reputation of "China Hot Springs Capital". Also known as the "Pearl on the Tropic of Cancer" and "Guangzhou Back Garden". There are many lakes and reservoirs 100, Qingshan 120 thousand hectares, and the forest coverage rate is 67.2%.
