Travel and accommodation in Israel
stay
In fact, my accommodation is of little reference value. As I am a member of the hotel industry, many places get very low accommodation prices at staff prices. Please refer to my itinerary for details. This is basically the IHG Group Hotel. It is worth mentioning that the Intercontinental Hotel Aqaba in Jordan and the Intercontinental Hotel Jordan in Amman are relatively considerate, and the hospitality of the front desk and concierge makes people feel warm, which is completely unknown in Israel (except Ramon's beret).
I booked three places for the whole trip, namely Tiberia's cabin, Bedouin camp in Wadi Ramon, and beresheet Hotel in Ramon, the most beautiful place.
The cabin reserved by Tiberias mainly shows that the reservation score is not low, the surrounding environment is good and the landscape position is good. Suites are more suitable for family travel. You can cook by yourself when you are on vacation and improve the diet that the Middle East is not used to. If you have enough time, it is still recommended.
In fact, there are quite a few camps that Wadham can choose, with different prices, ranging from 10 plus JD to hundreds of JD. Personally, I think the choice angle is mainly inclined to two aspects: first, the location of the camp, try to avoid the gathering area of the camp, because one of the purposes of many people coming here is to see the starry sky, so avoid places with heavy light pollution, right? The second is to pay attention to whether there is a bathroom, whether it is used by * * or independent, especially for women. Relatively speaking, women love cleanliness. Taking a bath in the desert will be a pleasant thing.
About Amway going to beresheet many times, I consulted a lot of materials and travel notes before going, and my reputation was quite good. However, after my personal experience, I found it really worth experiencing once, so I won't go into details here. Isrotel Group is a hotel management group 198 1 established in Israel. Most hotels are holiday hotels, so most of them are located in Eilat in the south. See Wikipedia for details. Finally, nearly 400 yuan a night is really expensive.
In fact, you can choose Airbnb to choose some cost-effective homestays, which is not necessarily a good travel experience.
Transportation (car rental)
Meet the title of the full text. Except for transit buses and taxis, it is almost a pure self-driving mode in Israel and Jordan, and the journey is about 1200 km- 1400 km.
Both Israel and Jordan recognize China's driver's license, so both high-end Avis, Hertz, Sixt, thrifty and local car rental companies recognize China's driver's license, and there is no need for an international driver's license or an interpreter. Just carry the original driver's license with you. (Personal test consulted several car rental companies)
The traffic driving rules of the two countries are basically similar to those of China. When driving on the left, the locals drive very fast (once a hatchback Kia drove to 140km/h on Highway 90, and a Highlander leisurely passed by, which made them feel ashamed). But when crossing the road, whether in Israel or Jordan, they take the initiative to avoid pedestrians, which is a sign of high civilization.
It is mentioned in the strategy that Israel is not allowed to turn right at a red light. But what I have experienced is that almost many intersections have dedicated right-turn lanes and local vehicles also turn right. At the same time, there is no corresponding sign, and there is no fine for violation. I don't know if it's accurate, but I need to make sure.
Driving is not recommended in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. Parking is a big problem because of the bad road conditions. Please try to park in blue and white parking spaces or paid parking lots to avoid unnecessary fines affecting travel.
Because there are many problems on the road, there are three trips:
1. Rent a car in Jerusalem and return it in Eilat.
2. Rent a car in Aqaba and return it in Amman.
3. Rent a car in Tiberias and return it in Tel Aviv.
With regard to refueling, most car rentals require a full tank of gas when returning the car, but you can negotiate with the car rental company, pay a small fee, and directly pre-authorize the car rental, thus avoiding the problem of wasting time when refueling halfway or finding a gas station in the end.
As for navigation, a Googlemap generally travels all the way, which can fully meet the needs of navigation. Except that it was not so easy to use in the West Bank, it was once driven to the residents' homes on Sapanshan Road in Vadim, and everything else was extremely accurate. The power of Google is beyond your imagination. Business hours of all scenic spots, restaurants, border agencies, etc. Very accurate. Highly recommended!
Car rental companies in Israel are equipped with starting codes, while Jordan does not.
Finally, regarding the issue of insurance, it is suggested to check the insurance regulations of the car rental company in detail, and it is suggested to configure all risks just in case, because if the whole trip is affected by vehicle failure or accident, it will not be worth the loss.
There are two ways to rent a car in these two countries. One is to make an appointment through app software such as domestic car rental, and the other is to communicate with local stores. In fact, each has its own advantages and disadvantages. It depends on personal preference.
money
The currencies of Israel and Jordan are not international currencies. They are Israel's new shekel, written as NIS, and the exchange rate is around 1: 1.8, and Jordan's Jordanian dinar is written as JD. The exchange rate is less than 1: 10, but you can hardly get this exchange rate.
It is worth mentioning that the circulation of US dollars here is very good, and even in the West Bank and Jordan, US dollars can be used directly. I remember when I rented a car in Aqaba, because there was not much left in the fuel tank, and when I refueled in Jordan on the way to Petra, I paid US dollars directly because the dinar was not enough.
Remember to exchange more dollars when you are preparing to travel. These two currencies cannot be exchanged in domestic banks.
