This event is an important measure to create "Cultural Quality Meizhou". This year’s competition is divided into two parts.

1. Spring Festival Couplets Grand Prix

1. A self-written 4-character couplet (including horizontal batches);

2. A self-written 7-character couplet ( (Including horizontal batch);

3. Self-composed couplet with 11 to 19 words;

Each of the three couplets will select one first prize, each with 10,000 yuan; second prize 2 winners will be awarded RMB 3,000 each; 3 third prize winners will be awarded RMB 1,000 each.

The Benzhenglian activity is held once a year, with one round every five years (the first round is from 2010 to 2014). There will be one special prize in each round, worth RMB 80,000. The first prize every year is selected by the top domestic couplet experts organized by the organizing committee in good faith in accordance with the principles of fairness, impartiality and openness. It enters the five-year finals and is announced in major media across the country. It is accepted by couplet enthusiasts across the country and the whole society. 2. Self-composed couplets for scenic spots: Hakka Temple, Statue of Yanhuang Emperor, Hakka Town, Twenty Pavilions

Each couplet will have one first prize, and each will be awarded RMB 8,000 yuan; 2 second prizes, each awarded RMB 3,000; 3 third prizes, each awarded RMB 1,000. The scenic spot also has a special award for individual adoption of twenty pavilions, with each pavilion worth 1,000 yuan.

3. Requirements for the competition
