When Yiwu University for the Elderly was founded, it had only one classroom, two majors, and more than 60 students. Under the attention and care of the leaders of the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government and the direct leadership of the Municipal Party Committee’s veteran cadres bureau, the school has grown from small to large and flourished, with continuous improvement of hardware facilities, continuous strengthening of education management, and continuous improvement of teaching quality and social benefits. The school was rated as a model school for standardized construction by the Bureau of Veteran Cadres of the Provincial Party Committee. At present, it has developed into a comprehensive senior university with 4 departments including calligraphy, painting and photography, home economics and literature, medical care, and arts and sports, 29 majors, 45 classes, and more than 1,500 students.
