The origin of wolf mountain

The name "Wolf Mountain" comes from two sources:

First, the explanation in the county annals is that it is said that when Shun Di passed through Xinning on his southern tour, he saw that the mountains and rivers were very beautiful and blurted out: "The good ones in the mountains are Wolf Mountain, Wolf Mountain."

Second, Professor Peng Zerun's explanation. On June 6th, 2065438+00-/KLOC-0, a member of CPPCC of Hunan Normal University and a member of the United Front Work Department visited the tourism development of Langshan Mountain, a world natural heritage in Xinning County. Huang, the county magistrate and deputy magistrate of Xinning County, met with members of the delegation, and county leaders held a forum. Professor Peng Zerun, a member of the Provincial Political Consultative Conference and an academician of the College of Literature, put forward an imaginative and legendary explanation of the origin of the place name of Langshan, which was unanimously affirmed by everyone: Why is the word "Langshan" pronounced "Langshan" and its sound "Liang"? "Wolf Mountain" is actually "Wolf Mountain", a mountain with wave marks on the mountainside. Looking down from the top of the high mountain, you can also see the continuous hills in the sea of clouds, like waves in the sea. It's like Mao Zedong's poem, which describes "the five ridges are winding and the waves are sky-high". It is conceivable that tens of thousands of years ago, it was still an ocean, and the seas dried up and the rocks crumbled. Later, when the water left and the mountain came up, the word "wave" was written as "lang".
