Yushuizhai Scenic Area is a scenic spot with Naxi ethnic culture as its core and perfectly integrated with the natural landscape. It has now become Lijiang's main tourist attractions.

Yushui Village is the Dongba holy land in the central region of the Naxi people and traces the origin of the ancient city of Lijiang. The Nature Conservancy of the United States has designated Yushui Village as the inheritance base of Dongba culture, Baisha Xile inheritance base, and Leba dance inheritance base to carry out work such as excavation, arrangement, inheritance, research, and display of the ancient Naxi culture. The Yushui Village Dongba Cultural Heritage Base retains the traditional and simple style of the Naxi people and complements the surrounding beautiful natural landscape. It truly embodies the traditional Naxi concept of harmonious development between man and nature and the true meaning of Dongba culture. There are three famous Dongba masters in the scenic area who preside over daily affairs, and several Dongba students are studying Dongba scriptures, Dongba dance, Dongba sacrificial rituals, Dongba art, etc. in Yushui Village.

Every year on March 5 of the lunar calendar, Dongba people from the entire Naxi area gather in Yushui Village to hold the annual Dongba Shiluo Meeting at the Dongba Shiluo Temple. Baisha Xile is an ancestor of the Naxi people Musical miracles created. Baisha Fine Music and Lijiang Cave Sutra Music are the twin gems of Naxi ancient music. Lu Ji, the former chairman of the Chinese Musicians Association, also sincerely praised Baisha Xiyue as a living fossil of music. Yushui Village is the starting point of the 2001 Seven-Star Cross-Country Challenge. The 2002 Lijiang International Dongba Cultural Tourism Festival was also held in Yushui Village.
