Huangshan Mountain is a world cultural and natural heritage, a world geological park and a world biosphere reserve. It is a national scenic spot, a national civilized scenic spot and a national 5A scenic spot. Together with the Yangtze River, the Great Wall and the Yellow River, it is an outstanding representative of China's magnificent mountains and rivers and splendid culture. Known by the world as "fairyland on earth" and "the first wonder mountain in the world", it is also known as the "five wonders" of strange pines, strange rocks, clouds, hot springs and winter snow.
There are 88 peaks above 1000 meters, and the three main peaks of Lotus, Guangmingding and Tiandu are all above 1.800 meters. Xu Xiake, a great traveler in the Ming Dynasty, visited Huangshan twice, praising: "There is no emblem of Huangshan at home and abroad, and there are no mountains in the world when you visit Huangshan." According to this, later generations concluded that "Five Mountains return without looking at the mountains, and Huangshan returns without looking at the mountains."
Huangshan Mountain, formerly known as Zhishan Mountain, is named after the blue peaks and the distant view of the sky. Legend has it that Xuanyuan Huangdi once collected medicine and made an alchemy here, which made him immortal. Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty believed in Taoism and changed Zhishan to Huangshan in Tianbao six years. The name of Huangshan is still in use today. For more than 1000 years, Huangshan Mountain has accumulated rich Yellow Emperor culture. Scenic spots such as Xuanyuan Peak, Alchemy Peak, Rongcheng Peak, Qiufufeng, Single Crystal, Yao Xi and Yaotai are all related to the Yellow Emperor.
Huangshan Mountain is a collection of 800 million years of geological history, peak forest landforms and glacier relics, and has rich and typical geological landscapes such as granite mold stones, granite caves and Quantanxi Waterfalls. The joints of Qianshan rock mass are sparse, multi-spherical and weathered, and the mountain is magnificent; Houshan rock mass is characterized by dense joints, multi-column weathering and steep mountain, forming a landform feature of "majestic front mountain and beautiful back mountain".
