The Fengmen Ancient Trail Mountain Gate is a three-door and four-column archway, all built of granite. The four characters "Fengmen Ancient Path" on the archway are the handwriting of a famous calligrapher and Jinshi from Jieyang in the late Qing Dynasty. The newly built mountain road is graceful and flat; in addition, there are Huaiyuan Pavilion, yellow banyan tree and gurgling spring, which accompany tourists to the ancient temple.
The Fengmen Ancient Temple (Bo Gong Temple) is the most famous attraction in the scenic area. The temple walls and roof beams are all made of granite. It is said that the temple was built in the Song Dynasty and was originally a fir structure. It was repeatedly damaged by termites in the past dynasties. The existing stone temple was rebuilt by Shipai villagers in the Qing Dynasty. Next to the temple is an ancient banyan tree that is more than 600 years old. According to legend, it was planted by He Yeyun, the "Lice Mother Immortal". The ancient banyan tree has lush roots and intertwined branches, which is used to resist the wind and keep the environment safe. Unfortunately, it was uprooted by Typhoon "Pearl" in 2006. Later, gardening experts studied and took measures to save this ancient tree.
The "Uncle" of Fengmenjing is very effective, almost to the extent of responding to requests, so people who ask God for divination are endless, and the incense continues to flourish. Nowadays, the building scale of "Bo Gong Temple" is getting larger and larger, and it is majestic. The stone railings and reliefs around it are all built by faithful men and women who fulfilled their vows. In addition, there is a stele corridor on the left side of the temple, with a dazzling array of calligraphy by famous artists at home and abroad, adding a traditional and fresh cultural atmosphere to Fengmen Ancient Trail. There is a three-story reception room and the "Sangpu Mountain Cultural Exhibition Hall" on the right side; in front and below is the large stone pillar of "Tenglong Splashing Jade".
Standing in front of the ancient temple on the Fengmen Ancient Trail, facing the southeast, you can see the Nanlong Reservoir winding away. Nanlong Reservoir is like a giant dragon with its head and claws. The countless mountains and ridges are scattered high and low, like birds and animals, with lifelike shapes. On a sunny day, the morning and evening twilight come here, the mountains are misty, the lake is shimmering with golden light, the pines are roaring, and the birds are singing, which makes you forget to leave. Nanlong Reservoir was originally a grand canyon in Sangpu Mountain. In 1958, in order to alleviate the water shortage in farmland, the local government mobilized thousands of troops and built two dams at the two gaps in the canyon. It took a year to complete the reservoir. It has a rain collection area of ??15.3 square kilometers and a water storage capacity of 20 million cubic meters. It is the largest of the many reservoirs in Sangpu Mountain. Because of its huge capacity and the famous Fengmen Trail winding through it, it is also called: Emperor Lake.
The ancient path of Fengmen has countless strange stones and miraculous craftsmanship. The "Yang Stone" is so lifelike that many tourists marvel at its resemblance to a god, but also regret that it is not as tall as the Yang Yuan Stone in Danxia Mountain. In fact, it is not that the "Yangshi" of Sangpu Mountain is short, it has an interesting legend:
It is said that one day, the beautiful seven fairies wandered to the foot of Sangpu Mountain and were fascinated by the beautiful Sangpu scenery. At dusk in midsummer, when the weather was hot, the seven fairies saw no one around and the clear waves of the Emperor Lake were rippling, so they all took off their clothes and went for a swim in the lake. Unexpectedly, the sound of the seven fairies playing woke up the slutty demon who was snoozing in the afternoon. He followed the sound and came to the edge of the Emperor Lake. He was stunned by the beautiful body of the seven fairies. After a while, he became lustful, took off his clothes, caressed his penis and lusted after the seven fairies. Not working properly. Fortunately, the mountain god was patrolling here. When he saw this situation, he screamed loudly and raised the knife in his hand. The slutty demon was not an ordinary person. He quickly retracted his penis and the blade just passed the glans. The mountain god used magical power to freeze the obscene demon. From then on, the "Yang Stone" in Sangpu Mountain no longer dared to grow upward.
It is said that when the mountain god yelled at the lewd monster, the seven fairies were shocked. One of them happened to be squatting by the lake with her butt raised and washing something. This shock was not trivial. Her soul flew away, but her lower body was left alive. In the human world, this is the "yin stone" of Sangpu Mountain we see today.
Not far below the "Yang Stone", there is a large stone shaped like a turtle blocking the mountain road. From a distance, this large stone looks like a turtle out of the sea. There is a gap at the interface of the turtle's neck, forming a door. According to legend, the Lice Mother Immortal devoted herself to cultivation here and spent the rest of her life. Now this cave is called "Yeyunyan".
There is a golden seated statue of Patriarch He Yeyun, the lice mother fairy, in the cave.
The newly built Sanxian Temple on the mountain south of Fengmen Ancient Temple held its consecration ceremony on January 10, 2012.
This temple has the architectural characteristics of Chaoshan temples, with magnificent splendor, carved beams and painted buildings, and is a symbol of Chaoshan. The craftsmanship of porcelain inlay, wood carving and stone carving are fully displayed. Scenic area tickets
