Jingbian Wave Valley Travel Guide

Jingbopo Valley is a scenic spot with magnificent scenery. Red sandstone is everywhere, making the landscape very varied. It is such a beautiful tourist landscape that everyone has always liked. Come and see how to play here today!

Introduction

Jingbian Wave Valley rock is called red sandstone and is composed of huge sand dunes that began to be deposited in the Jurassic period 150 million years ago. The dunes are constantly covered by layers of red sand soaked by groundwater. Over time, minerals in the water solidified the sand into sandstone, creating the layered structure we see today. Such landforms are distributed in Longzhou Township, Jingbian, rather than concentrated in one place. After tourists and locals divided and summarized the places with relatively beautiful scenery and relatively concentrated landforms, there are three areas A, B, and C, which are also places worth visiting for foreign tourists.

Wave Valley Areas A, B, and C

When traveling to a strange place, it is an effective method to open the map and conduct a strategy guide. Take the commonly used Baidu map as an example. After opening it, search for the area near Longzhou Town, Jingbian County, and there are three attractions related to Langgu: the Flame Danxia Area of ??Langgu, Jingbian Danxia Langgu No. 5 Area, and Longzhou Danxia Landform Scenic Area. As shown below (the content displayed on the Gaode map is similar to this):

Don’t think that the three areas on this map are usually called Area A, Area B, and Area C. There is only “Jing” on the map. "Bian Danxia Bogu Area 5" corresponds to Area B. The other two areas are neither Area A nor Area C. Among them, "Longzhou Danxia Landform Scenic Area" is on the way to Area A. It is far away from Area A, but it is worth a stop. Take a look. Although it is small in scale, the landscape is still very distinctive.

According to local people, the locations of Area A, Area B, and Area C are as shown in the picture below.

1. Area A is the largest. Attractions such as Yanjiazhaizi and Yixiantian are all in Area A. However, the local government is currently developing and constructing Area A and is temporarily closed to tourists.

2. Area B is also known as "Flame Danxia". Since June 2008, the local government has issued a notice to begin closed construction of the scenic spot and is temporarily closed to the public.

As shown in Figure 8 below, at the entrance to Area B of Langgu, although the sign says "Langgu, the main scenic area", it is not Area A, but Area B.

3. Area C "Water Danxia" is suitable for viewing on sunny mornings or afternoons at sunrise and sunset, but is more general at other times.

Is District 5 worth visiting?

If you arrive in Langgu, local villagers will recommend you to go to District 5 (the location of District 5 is marked in Figure 4 above). Area 5 is far away from Areas A, B, and C, about 20 kilometers, and the road conditions are very poor. Most of them are narrow dirt roads with steep slopes, so self-driving is not recommended. You can pay to be picked up by locals (if time permits, Area 5 is still worth visiting. Its characteristics are different from Areas A, B, and C, with fewer tourists.

How to plan your travel time

It’s best to spend 2 days in Longzhou Town to have a good time. Many local villagers have opened family hotels, and you can stay for 100 yuan a night. Food and accommodation are very convenient (preferably at the doorstep of someone who can provide accommodation. Ask for the price directly, do not negotiate at the intersection to avoid being charged by middlemen). After arriving in Longzhou on the first day, you can first go to District 5 and travel for 3-4 hours, then go to District B, and finally go to District C before sunset. Watch the Danxia on the Water; visit Area A the next morning and leave Longzhou after the tour. If time is tight, you can only visit Area A, Area B and Area C.

Notes

The local government is currently developing and constructing Areas A and B, which will not be open to the public for the time being, so it is best to wait until the development and construction are completed and the attractions are open to tourists before going there. During the closure period, some local villagers went privately. Tourists can enter the scenic spot after charging a certain fee, but they should pay special attention to safety, especially the protection of the scenic spot. The Danxia landform of Bolang Valley is formed by Feng Shui and Feng Shui. The natural force of wind and sand has been carved for hundreds of millions of years, and it is so fragile. Whoever destroys it is a sinner.
