Zhanjiang lies between east longitude109 40'-10 58' and north latitude 2013'-2157', including all of Leizhou Peninsula and a part of the northern part of the Peninsula. It borders the South China Sea in the east, Hainan Province across Qiongzhou Strait in the south, Beibu Gulf in the west, southwest China in the back, and Maoming City in the northeast. The urban area is located in the northeast of Leizhou Peninsula, with east longitude 1 10 4' and north latitude 2 1 12'.
