Agricultural Training Institute

The Memorial Hall of the former site of the Peasant Movement Training Institute hosted by Comrade Mao Zedong is located at No. 42, Zhongshan 4th Road, Guangzhou. The old site was originally the Panyu Academy (Confucius Temple), which was built in 1370 (the third year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty). This magnificent ancient building consists of Lingxing Gate, Panchi, Arch Bridge, Dacheng Gate, Dacheng Hall, Chongsheng Temple and It consists of two corridors, two verandas, and Minglun Hall on both sides.

After the formation of the first Kuomintang cooperation, the national revolutionary movement developed rapidly in order to cooperate with the upcoming Northern Expedition and develop farmers across the country. Movement, from May to September 1926, the Sixth Peasant Movement Training Institute was held here with Mao Zedong as director, and 327 Communist Party members from 20 provinces and regions including Zhou Enlai, Xiao Chunv, Peng Pai, and Yun Daiying served as teachers. Students here learned the theories and methods of the peasant movement, received rigorous military training, and participated in the revolutionary struggle. After graduation, the students went to various parts of the country to lead the peasant movement and made important contributions to the Chinese Revolution.
