The Qinghai-Tibet line travels to Tibet by car.
The total length of the Golmud-Lhasa section of the Qinghai-Tibet Highway (actually the Qinghai-Tibet Line) is1160km. When it is from Xiongxiong to Namco120km, we will drive1280km. The following is a complete record of our trip to the Qinghai-Tibet line (stealing LP's onboard notes):
The first day:
05: 30 Golmud Nanjiao Hotel departs.
At 05: 59, at the Nanshankou checkpoint, the sky gradually began to brighten, and the mountains on both sides of the road became clearer and clearer.
At 06: 29, the first train passed by us in parallel. This is the first train we saw on the Jiela section of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway.
At 06: 45, we arrive at that pool platform, and on the left is Kunlun Shenquan. Get off the bus to take pictures and set foot on the land of the Qinghai-Tibet line for the first time.
Arrive at Nachi Station at 06: 49.
07: 05 to Sanchahe Bridge of Qinghai-Tibet Railway
07: 07 You can see the Emerald Everest from a distance.
At 07: 23, I had breakfast in a small restaurant in Gansu at the foot of Mount Everest in Xidatan, at an altitude of 4 195 meters. After dinner, I refueled my car at a gas station not far away.
07: 53 Continue driving after breakfast.
Arrive at Kunlun Mountain Pass at 08: 20, with an altitude of 4,767 meters, and there is Sonam Victory Monument by the roadside.
08: 39 Cross Kunlun Mountain and enter Hoh Xil Nature Reserve.
08: 50 passed Dongdongquan Protection Station.
08: 54 After a while, the frozen spring protection station, continuous snow-capped mountains began to appear on the roadside.
09: 12 See qingshui river bridge of Qinghai-Tibet Railway, with a total length of11.7km.
09: 19, I visited Sonam Dajie Protection Station and donated 100 yuan as a thank you.
From 09: 52 to Wudaoliang, the road conditions near Wudaoliang are poor.
10: 20 The second train passed by in parallel with us.
1 1: 18 See Fenghuoshan Tunnel of Qinghai-Tibet Railway.
1 1: 20 to the crater of the wind, with an altitude of 50 10 meters, and we stood on 5000 meters for the first time.
1 1: 38 Cross Erdaogou and take off the river protection station.
The third train passed us. After the windy volcano, the clouds feel very low, as if they are touching the ground.
12: 23 See Tuotuohe Station of Qinghai-Tibet Railway, and go ahead to Tuotuohe Station on the left. The arc drawn by the train on the plateau is beautiful.
13: 04 Register your ID card at the checkpoint at G 109 3 177 km.
13: 23 Crossing Tongtianhe Bridge
13: 49 is 0/0 km away from Yanshiping/Kloc-0, and the road leading to Maqu Township in the right hand direction can be Dagladun Winter Snow Mountain.
13: 58 After passing Yanshiping, we had lunch in a sister restaurant near the old hot spring. Handsome Roger is 20 years old and cooked us a delicious meal.
15: 15 Continue driving after lunch. The next stop is Tanggula Pass, accompanied by snow peaks along the way.
15: 34 Welcome the first train from Lhasa.
15: 4 1 to Tanggula Mountain Station
15: 49 The railway and highway met for the last time in Qinghai Province. So far, the Qinghai-Tibet railway and highway have met 27 times in Qinghai Province.
16: 33 to Tanggula Pass, elevation 523 1 m, the highest point of Qinghai-Tibet Highway.
16: 48 Cross Tanggula Pass and enter Tibet. Not far by car, I met a team on foot.
17: 26 Tou jiusan, elevation 5170m.
17: 30, I met a military vehicle escort on the Qinghai-Tibet line for the first time. It's neat and orderly. Every time it passes a military vehicle, the military vehicle will flash the right light to make way.
18: 14 arrived at Amdo speed limit registration point, and there was light snow in the sky, and the time was short.
/kloc-Leave Amdo "Automatic Card Delivery Office" at 0/9: 40, with a speed limit of two hours. I saw the railway again, and the scenery of Qiangtang grassland in northern Tibet is very beautiful.
20: 12 to Naqu
At 20: 22, I saw Naqu Station of Qinghai-Tibet Railway.
Leave Naqu speed limit station at 20: 46.
2 1: 04 On the way to Gulu, I saw Tibetans kowtowing for the first time.
2 1: 45 out of Gulu, roads and railways meet for the first time in Tibet.
Enter the Lhasa border at 22: 00.
Arrive in Dangxiong County at 22: 40.
The next day:
06: 10 Starting from Dangxiong
07: 10 to Namco Tashi Peninsula
Return from Namco Tashi Peninsula at 08: 40.
09: 27 Out of Namco Scenic Area
At 09: 58 G 109 3755 km, I saw the first train from Lhasa today. On the way, I met a coach head on, but most of the seats were empty.
10: 48 Chuyang Bajing checkpoint
10: 53 met the second train from Lhasa.
1 1: 06 meets the military vehicle again.
1 1: 19 met the third train from Lhasa.
1 1: 29 When a military vehicle stopped to have a rest, the soldiers took the time to clean the car. No matter old or new, military vehicles are always so clean.
1 1: 39 met the fourth train from Lhasa.
1 1: 5 1 Chudui Longyangda checkpoint.
12: 02 Enter Lhasa City.
/kloc-arrive at the bus station in the western suburbs of Lhasa at 0/2: 20, and see the end sign of the Qinghai-Tibet line-Qingchuan-Tibet Highway Monument.
2. Qinghai-Tibet Highway and Railway
Before dawn, we drove out of Golmud downtown and ran on G 109. Qinghai-Tibet highway and railway go hand in hand, passing through Nanshankou, Kunlun Shenquan, Nachitai, Sanchahe, Yuqingfeng Mountain, Kunlun Shankou, Frozen Spring, Chuma River, Wudaoliang, Xiushui River, Fenghuokou, Erdaohe, Tuotuo River, Kaixinling, Tongtianhe, Yanshiping and Wenquan Military Station. Not far behind the military station, the railway and highway are separated. The train climbed to the southwest, passed Tanggula Station, the world's highest railway station with a height of 5,072 meters, and the car rushed to Tanggula Pass, the highest point of the Qinghai-Tibet Highway with a height of 523 1 meter.
Over the Tanggula Mountain and into Tibet. The train passes through Zhajia Zangbu, Tuoju, Amdo, Cuona Lake, Color Library and Gangxiu, and the bus passes through Amdo, Zharen and Guozu. When it reached Naqu, it was parallel to the railway again, passing through Rome, Gulu, Wumatang, Dangxiong, Yangbajing and Maxiang, and finally reaching the holy city of Lhasa.
From Golmud to Lhasa, roads and railways met 37 times, including 27 in Qinghai and 0/0 in Tibet.
Car advantage: beautiful scenery along the way, meaningful attractions can stop to watch and take pictures.
Disadvantages of the car: long-distance running, high physical consumption.
Advantages of the train: high speed and comfort, scattered oxygen supply in the carriage, avoiding altitude sickness in four or five kilometers.
Disadvantages of the train: the beautiful scenery passes by and you can't really experience the magnificence of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
3. recommend the beautiful scenery and places worth staying on the Qinghai-Tibet line
Jade Mount Everest, Kunlun Mountain Pass, Sonam Dajie Protection Station, qingshui river bridge of Qinghai-Tibet Railway, Fenghuangkou, Tuotuo (Monument to the Source of the Yangtze River, the First Bridge at the Source of the Yangtze River), Tanggula Mountain Pass, Qiangtang Grassland in Northern Tibet, Namco in Dangxiong and Yangbajing Hot Spring.
4. Pay attention, remind, suggest, coup
Basically, driving and activities are above 4000 meters above sea level, and the ultraviolet rays on the plateau are strong, so pay attention to sun protection.
Passing a mountain pass, the mountain pass is windy and the temperature is low. Pay attention to wind and cold, and avoid staying too long.
There are restaurants in towns and villages along the way to provide meals, but the sanitary conditions should not be too good. The best choice for accommodation is Tuotuo River, Naqu and Dangxiong.
The Qinghai-Tibet Railway has a good road condition, but some sections are bumpy, so we should pay attention to controlling the speed, especially when passing by.
The speed limit from Amdo to Lhasa is different from that in the mainland. The limit is the time for vehicles to pass through each road section. For example, the vehicle from Amdo to Naqu takes more than 2 hours from entry to exit.
Golmud arrived in Lhasa, leaving early and returning late one day, but it was very hard. It is best for tourists to walk for two days, so that they can have enough time to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way, or they can stop by Namco.
Namco can enter the scenic spot without buying a ticket before 7 am, which is a reasonable evasion. It is said that admission after 22: 00 pm is free, and you can stay in a tent hotel by the lake of Zhaxi Peninsula.
It has been proved by practice that it is wise and correct to take the Qinghai-Tibet line and send new cars into Tibet. However, pay attention to one thing. We should discuss with the driver in advance who will pay for his room and board. Although there is not much money, we should explain it in advance to avoid unpleasant things. We didn't talk about it in advance, and the driver was very nice all the way, so we took the initiative to bear his room and board.
