This film is the first film directed by comedian Peter Billingsley.

The film was shot on Bora Bora Island in the South Pacific. The island is the main island of French Polynesia, and looks like an inverted gourd melon. In 2005, Forbes magazine called it one of the sexiest islands in the world. During the filming, the crew closed the island.
