How to apply for a border defense permit

Application Guide:

1. Tourists with registered residence in Xinjiang must apply for a "Border Pass" at the place of residence.

2. People with household registration in Xinjiang who apply for a "Border Pass" in another place can apply for a "Border Pass" at their place of residence with a valid residence permit.

3. Visitors from outside Xinjiang can apply for the "Border Pass" at various pass-issuing points in Xinjiang

Individual application materials:

Prepare your ID card or household registration book Original document. If a person registered in Xinjiang applies for a different place, he or she must also have a valid residence certificate issued by the public security authority of the place of residence.

Processing process:

1. I shall apply for the certificate at the public security bureau at or above the county level (inclusive) in my place of residence with my original certificate, and accurately declare the place and purpose of my visit.

2. Non-Xinjiang registered persons who come to Xinjiang for tourism or other reasons can also apply at any public security agency at or above the county level (inclusive) in the place where they plan to go. After on-site review by the public security organ, the certificate can be issued.

3. All counties (districts and cities) in Xinjiang have certificate application points.

Warm reminder:

1. The pass is generally valid for no more than three months.

2. Children under the age of 16 are not required to apply for a permit alone, but must be accompanied by a guardian.
