Can mainland bank cards be used in Hong Kong and Macau?

Cards from any bank with the "UnionPay" logo can be used in Hong Kong.

It can be used in Hong Kong ATMs or shopping mall POS machines with the three-color "UnionPay" logo. It basically covers large department stores, brand-name specialty stores, fashion clothing and other stores in major tourist areas such as Causeway Bay, Central, Kowloon, Tsim Sha Tsui, and Wan Chai.

According to national regulations, "UnionPay" cards are limited to travel consumption payments in Hong Kong. Cash withdrawals from Hong Kong ATMs must not exceed the equivalent of 5,000 Hong Kong dollars per day. Transfers or cash withdrawals cannot be made over the counter at banks in Hong Kong. Or withdraw money through POS terminal. When cardholders withdraw money from Hong Kong ATMs, there is no limit on the number of times, but they are subject to the daily cumulative cash withdrawal limit; when swiping the card for consumption at POS, there is no limit on the amount of money swiped, as long as there is sufficient balance or credit limit in the card.
