What meaningful things did you do the year you graduated from high school?

The most meaningful thing I did the year I graduated from high school was working in a restaurant. I remember that I was just 17 years old at the time, and my mother originally told me to rest at home. But at that time, it took three months from the end of the college entrance examination to the beginning of the university semester. So I decided to find a part-time job because after entering college, it is like entering society and you have to learn to be independent. Therefore, under the introduction of my classmates, I went to work in a tourist hotel.

I learned a lot during the two months I worked in a tourist hotel. This laid a good foundation for my future life and development. During the two months of working in a hotel, I learned the following points. First, I learned to be independent. Before graduating from high school, I had been living under the care of my parents. I had never been independent at all, and I had never left my own home. Working in a hotel meant that I had to live alone far away from home. It was during that time that I learned to be independent.

During that summer vacation, I thought the second most meaningful thing I did while working was to learn to read. At that time, I was alone in the hotel and didn't have many friends. So I like to read books in my spare time, although in just two months, I read nearly a dozen books. Including the book that would have a huge influence on my life in the future, which was "The Ordinary World" by Lu Yao.

The third thing that had the deepest impact on me when I worked in a hotel during the summer after I graduated from high school was that I must persevere in whatever I do. Although this is a very simple thing, I remember that when I was working in a hotel, many of my classmates during the summer vacation left. I was the only one who persisted until the end. When the boss left, he gave me 500 yuan. He also encouraged me to study hard in the future and read more and read good books in college. This is the third thing that has the deepest impact on me.

This is what I did when I graduated from high school that I think is very meaningful, and it is these things that affect my future life and direction. Whenever I think of these past events, I will be particularly grateful for those ordinary years of my life.
