Scenic spots in Zixiao Town

Zixiao Town has beautiful scenery, good ecological environment protection, and rich natural and cultural landscapes. In 2008, it was awarded the Town with Beautiful Environment in Jiangxi Province by the Provincial Environmental Protection Bureau. Zixiaoxi Tourist Scenic Area has been rated as a national 2A-level tourist resource, with 32 landscapes. The mountains in the scenic area are unique and have various postures. The Millennium Taoist Temple Zixiao Temple, built during the Xiangfu period of the Southern Song Dynasty, is located in the middle of the scenic spot. It is embedded in a huge stone wall and the scenery is extremely spectacular. With the successful construction of the Panjiadu Hydropower Station downstream, the scenic spot is now surrounded by mountains and water, making the scenery even more charming.

Nanfeng County Zixiao River Rafting Tourist Area is located in Zixiao Town. It has Danxia landforms, unique landscape shapes, and rich cultural landscapes. It has been identified as a first-class tourism resource by the Jiangxi Provincial Tourism Planning and Design Institute. It is now It is rated as a national AA-level tourist scenic spot. Zixiao River Rafting Area has 13 cultural landscapes, 25 natural landscapes, more than ten miles of water surface, steep mountains on both sides, mountains like black ink, and twists and turns. Shi Jianguo, director of the Tourism Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, called it: " The natural and cultural landscapes here are unique in Fuzhou City and even Jiangxi Province. "Nine winding cold streams flow around the trees, and the moonlight in front of the rocks makes people swim" is a true portrayal of the scenery here. The natural scenery in the scenic area is highly ornamental. Zixiao Creek has gentle water flow and rapids, making water rafting exciting and interesting. The Zixiao Temple in the scenic area was first built in the Han Dynasty. It was a Taoist temple founded by Mr. Xuanhu, the master of Fei Changfang and known as the immortal, who attained Taoism here. In the seventh year of Xiangfu in the Northern Song Dynasty (1014), Taoist Wang Shiliang restored it and made it more prosperous. A very well-preserved thousand-year-old stone arch bridge was discovered in Xixi Village, Zixiao Town, Nanfeng County, Jiangxi Province. The bridge deck is 5 meters wide, the arch height is 16 meters, and the bridge span is 24 meters. The bridge deck and arch are made of regular large bluestones. The genealogy of the Yu family records that this bridge existed when the Yu family moved from Emei, Sichuan in the early Northern Song Dynasty. It is an ancient post road bridge between counties and has a history of more than a thousand years. The discovery of this bridge has a very high reference value for the study of ancient Chinese bridge architecture.
