Historical origins of Xiadang Village
Xiadang Village used to be under the jurisdiction of Xietan Xianlu. Later, in the early 1960s, the Xiadang Brigade was set up and belonged to Fengyang Commune. The original name of the village was Xiadun Village. It was named after a small mound raised next to the village. Later generations changed it to Xiadang for simplicity. In 1982, the county place name office changed its name to Xiadang Village in order to distinguish it from the Xiadang Brigade of Pingxi Commune. . The village head's surname is Xiao, followed by Xu, Zheng, Sun, Ye, Chen and others. The ancestor of the Zheng family, Yao Chenggong, moved from Puyuan, Zhouning, to Xiadang during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty.
The ancestor of the surname Xu moved from Kengping Village to Banling and then to Xiadang. At the same time, Xiao Guanggong and Hong Renggong also moved from Zhouning Hucun to Dangfanji during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty and established a business, and they have produced ten generations of descendants for more than 250 years. It has a history of more than 700 years since the ancestor of the surname Ye in Banling Village moved from Xixi.
Xiadang Village belonged to Liudu, Fu'anli, Shouning County in the Ming Dynasty, to Southwest Township in the Qing Dynasty, to Fengyang Township, Xietan District in the Republic of China, and to Xianlu Village, Xietan District, Second District after the founding of the People's Republic of China. Xietan's reward and salary brigade is divided into the lower party brigade, which is affiliated to Fengyang Commune. In 1984, the commune was converted into a township and it still belongs to Fengyang Township. Since the resumption of the college entrance examination, more than 30 people in the village have been admitted to colleges and universities.
