What should I prepare for going abroad for the first time?

The materials to be prepared for applying for a visa to go abroad include: passport, various documents related to the application, and visa application form.

1. Submit a valid passport.

2. Submit various documents related to the application, such as birth certificate, marital status certificate, education certificate and work experience certificate.

3. Fill in and submit the visa application form. Different visas have different forms. Most of them should be filled out in foreign languages and photos should be provided at the same time.

4. Go to the embassy or consulate in China to meet officials. Some countries stipulate that all immigrant applicants must be interviewed before making a decision; Some countries also require interviews to apply for non-immigrant visas.

5. The embassy or consulate shall submit the completed visa application form and necessary supporting materials to the domestic competent authorities for examination and approval. The embassies and consulates of a few countries have the right to issue visas directly, but they still have to report to China for the record.

Basic application materials for applying for a visa to People's Republic of China (PRC):

(2) Visa application form and photos: People's Republic of China (PRC) visa application form 1 copy and recent, front, color (light background), bareheaded, passport photo 1 copy pasted on the application form.

(3) Proof of legal stay or residence (applicable to those who do not apply for a visa to their country of nationality): If they do not apply for a visa to their country of nationality, the original and photocopy of valid proof of legal stay, residence, work and study in the host country are required.

(4) Original China passport or original Chinese visa (applicable to those who once had China nationality and later joined foreign nationality): If applying for a Chinese visa for the first time, the original China passport and a copy of passport photo page must be provided.

If you have obtained a Chinese visa and apply for a visa with a new foreign passport, you must provide the photo page of the original foreign passport and a copy of the obtained Chinese visa (if the name recorded in the new passport is inconsistent with the original passport, you must also provide relevant official documents to change your name).
