The story of me and the museum

When I was in high school with the story writer of the museum/Cai Qin

The middle school I attended was separated from the stele museum by a wall. At that time, the monument was under construction and was not open to the public, but I could enter and leave freely as long as I removed a bamboo fence. The Inscription Museum is the original site of Suzhou Confucian Temple, which houses famous Song steles such as Geographical Map and Pingjiang Map. Often holding a foreign language book in the past, I remember the experience of gazing at the pond, which is unfathomable against the clouds; I remember that wandering among the old trees and crumbling walls makes people feel fleeting, which makes our imagination go back to the past ... I have to admit that walking in any corner of the city, unfamiliar faces, a trace of unspeakable pain will suddenly spread in the depths of my heart, pulling up all your desolation and sadness-you will always be just a passer-by who doesn't pay attention to anyone, but wandering. After three years, I didn't recite a few foreign words, but I fell in love with the museum deeply.

falling in love with museums is the simplest and most direct way, that is, taking it as a career. At the time of the college entrance examination, the Wenbo major of the History Department of Hangzhou University recruited three students in Jiangsu. At that time, Hangzhou University was only an ordinary local university, far from the now famous Xixi Campus of Zhejiang University. Only a few majors such as the Museum of Cultural Relics of the History Department and the Tourism Economy of the Economics Department were enrolled nationwide. My score was enough to get into Nanjing University, and finally into Hangzhou University. It was because I fell in love with museums that I liked this major. From now on, going to the museum is just work, how beautiful!

After four years in college, the most visited place is naturally the museum. At that time, a bicycle, facing the swaying willow trees, rushed down from the top of the broken bridge without braking at all. The sunshine was fresh, clean and full of vitality, just like my mood at that time. On-the-spot visits, literature collection, photo-taking, interviews and records, sometimes, we simply don't go to the hall and sit in the chair in front of the museum until the turn of day and night, when the sunset glow turns the water in the West Lake into scarlet fruit wine. At that time, there were few museums in Hangzhou. As one of the museum types, the former residence of celebrities was also the place I frequented. It's not what it used to be, but you don't feel pale and abstract. Those people and things are far away from us in time and space, but that special character makes us feel close and close to them. Sitting in those windows, looking out, the West Lake is beating freely in front of you, willow trees are dancing under the blue sky, and the beauty of the West Lake seems soft and ethereal. Because of these celebrities, it becomes an extraordinary scene that wraps time, wraps space and reveals the majestic momentum of aesthetic connotation. Even if you visit occasionally, you will immediately have a quiet and reliable sense of belonging.

Nearly 2 years have passed. After graduating from college, my major has often changed because of the changes in my work unit. I have done almost all kinds of work in museums except doorman and curator, from the protection of ground cultural relics, research on ancient ceramics, exhibition planning and theoretical research on museum science. Every day in my corner, Yi Deng is like a bean, and those distant times stand out precariously, still showing the freshness and complexity of life, still showing the rich personality of each character, and flying through the gap of the vertical venetian blind, connecting with the cars and tall buildings outside the window.

Nearly twenty years have passed, and museums are no longer dark, silent and wandering places to kill boring time. After the economic development achieved initial results, it also ushered in the high-speed development stage of China Museum construction. Of course, the development of museums does not mean only the increase in number, but the effective play of social functions of museums. Therefore, compared with the traditional museums, the newly-built museums require some changes in location selection, architectural design, display methods and so on. Beautiful environment and convenient transportation have become the best solution to the problem of museum location.

In the exhibition, the static display mode of museum exhibits has been gradually replaced, and the narrative is greatly reduced. The exhibits and the background things that the exhibits want to convey are arranged in the exhibition environment at the same time, so that the audience can touch, observe and listen in combination with models, images, acoustics, charts, stages, computers and simulation experiment games, etc., so as to obtain a more real and authentic sensory experience.

more than twenty years have passed, and I have also changed from a high school girl who fell in love with museums to a researcher who made more people fall in love with museums.
