A summary of geological tourism resources evaluation

First, the concept of geological tourism resources evaluation

Geological tourism resources refer to the landscape formed by geological bodies (including structures, lithology, strata, mineral deposits, etc.). ) has ornamental value and scientific investigation value, which is the basis of the overall characteristics of a regional landscape (Yang Jie, 2007). Geological tourism resources are influenced by their resource characteristics. To determine whether they are geological tourism resources, we should not only consider their geological characteristics, but also consider the aesthetic needs of tourists. Therefore, to evaluate geological tourism resources and their quality, besides using geological scientific indicators, socio-economic and cultural factors are also very important.

Evaluation of tourism resources is the basic work of tourism development. Geological tourism resources are an important part of tourism resources, with dual attributes of geological resources and tourism resources. Its evaluation method not only has the characteristics of tourism resources evaluation, but also has its particularity as geological resources.

Second, the classification of geological tourism resources

When evaluating geological tourism resources, the finer the resource type, the higher the reliability and practical value of the evaluation results.

There are also different views on the classification of geological tourism resources. Chen Anze (200 1) divides geological landscapes into four categories (19, 52 subcategories): geological structural phenomena, paleontology, environmental geological phenomena and landscape landforms. Feng Tianqi (1998) divided mountain landforms, caves, rivers, canyons, lakes, springs, waterfalls, coasts, islands, glaciers, aeolian landforms, loess landforms, important geological sections, structural and geological disaster remains, important fossil producing areas and ancient human sites, typical mining areas and ancient mining and metallurgy sites, and important ancient water conservancy projects. Yang (2000) divided geological tourism resources into ornamental tourism geological resources and commercial tourism geological resources according to the possible forms of development and utilization.

The evaluation of tourism resources plays an important role in tourism development and construction, and the evaluation of landform conditions is very important. Geological tourism resources are also divided into many types according to different landforms. Zhang (1999) combined with the naming system of General Survey and Classification Scheme of Tourism Resources in China adopted by China Academy of Sciences 1990, according to the tourism characteristics of landscape resources, the landscape tourism resources were divided into 7 basic types, and then into 30 landscape types according to the genetic conditions of the landscape, as shown in Table 4- 1.

The classification of geomorphic tourism resources should first strive for the convenience of tourism resources investigation, evaluation and tourism development planning and design, that is, firstly classify geomorphic tourism resources according to their characteristics; Secondly, the genetic characteristics of landforms should be considered, so as to facilitate the scientific research of landforms tourism resources and avoid the confusion or artificial complexity of the classification system in the research.

Third, the evaluation purpose of geological tourism resources

Evaluation of geological tourism resources is the premise of scientific development and utilization of geological tourism resources, that is, on the basis of geological tourism resources investigation, taking the tourism resources, resource environment and development conditions in the investigation area as the evaluation object and content, adopting certain methods to judge and identify the characteristics and development of tourism resources, and providing theoretical basis for the planning, development and management of tourism resources in the investigation area. The purpose of tourism resources evaluation is as follows:

(1) Through the evaluation of the types, scales, grades, functions and values of geological tourism resources, it provides reference for determining the tourism development goals, market positioning, tourism development positioning and development scale;

(2) By evaluating the scale and grade of tourism resources, it provides systematic data and comparative standards for the hierarchical planning and management of national and regional tourism resources;

(3) Through the comprehensive evaluation of regional tourism resources, it provides support for the rational utilization of resources, environmental protection and overall effect, and prepares conditions for determining the construction sequence of different tourist destinations.

For geological tourism resources, the purpose of evaluation is to consciously explore and confirm the tourism value of geological tourism resources and their environment, find out the environmental status of geological tourism resources through appropriate evaluation, and provide scientific basis for the in-depth development of geological tourism resources.

Fourth, the significance of geological tourism resources evaluation

1. Research on Science Examination Promotion

Strengthening the evaluation and research of geological tourism resources is not only a new way of tourism development, but also a new requirement of geological science development. Its social effects are various. Because of the importance of geological science practice, strengthening this research can attract geologists from all over the world to visit and inspect, deepen the research level, enrich and develop the research content and understanding of the geological phenomena investigated, promote international academic exchanges in geology and improve the research level of geological science.

2. Popularize education and deepen tourism.

The evaluation and research on geological tourism resources can also help tourists to better develop geological tourism resources and transform a number of geological tourism areas that originally had only teaching and scientific research value into scenic spots that tourists are willing to visit. This can not only increase tourism income, but also continuously increase new tourism resources, which is conducive to increasing new varieties of tourism resources. At the same time, it can also make geoscience knowledge more widely popularized and popularized, so that people can not only watch various attractive geological phenomena, but also increase their understanding of geoscience knowledge in the process of participating in geological tourism.
