The best route to Tibet: a guide to Tibet's tourist routes

The scenery in Tibet is great and beautiful. Many people yearn to travel to Tibet, but which route to travel to Tibet is really a problem. Here are three routes for you to travel to Tibet. These three routes have their own characteristics. Choose according to your own preferences!

The first route: the first day of the classic 7-day tour of Sichuan-Tibet line: Potala Palace → Tibet Museum → Norbulingka.

On the first day, I took the ticket I bought the day before to visit the Potala Palace and personally visited this ancient snowy temple. If you want to photograph the magnificent momentum of Potala Palace, go to Wangyaoshan or Potala Palace Square. Go to Tibet Museum first in the afternoon. Then go to nearby Norbulingka to relax. You can stay at Barkhor Street or Xianzu Island at night.

The next day: drepung monastery → Barkhor Street → Jokhang Temple.

Get up in the morning and go to drepung monastery. This temple has many monks, magnificent buildings, exquisite thangkas and instruments, and if you are lucky, you can meet various religious activities. In the afternoon, return to Barkhor Street, go to Jokhang Temple, the religious center of national pilgrimage, and then experience life in Lhasa in Barkhor Street.

Day 3: Namco → Yangbajing

In the morning, I took a bus from Lhasa to Namco, one of the three sacred lakes in Tibet, and saw a beautiful picture of nature composed of blue sky, blue lake, white snow, green grass, herdsmen's ox hair tents and colorful mountain flowers. On the way, you can also watch Nyainqentanglha Mountain. Visit Tashi Peninsula and Tashi Temple. In the afternoon, I will return to Lhasa from Namco, and I will pass through Yangbajing Town to soak in plateau hot springs.

Day 4: Gandan Temple → Bangjietang Grassland → Taizhao Ancient City

Depart from Lhasa in the morning and go to Gandan Temple first. This is a temple built by Zong Kaba, the founder of Gelug Sect. There are many cultural relics in the temple. After the visit, continue to the west and reach Bangjietang grassland. On the flat and wide grass dam, the water plants are rich, the cattle and sheep are cheerful, and occasionally smoke rises. Then go to Taizhao Ancient City. This ancient city is well preserved. After the visit, I went to Jiangda, the Ministry of Industry, and spent the night in the county.

Day 5: Basongcuo → Xiuba Castle → Linzhi

Go to Basongcuo first in the morning. It is a famous holy lake of Ma Ning School. The lake is crystal clear, surrounded by snow-capped mountains and virgin forests, and the middle reaches of the lake are very quiet. Tashi Island in the lake also has a long history of Cuozong Gongba Temple and unique statues. Then go to Sheba Castle. These ancient castles were built in the late Tang Dynasty. Although they have been abandoned, we can still see the momentum of that year. After the visit, go to Linzhi, visit the giant Berlin and other scenic spots, and spend the night in Bayi Town.

Day 6: Sejila Forest Park → Lulang Linhai → Bomi

Go to Sedila Forest Park in the morning. The azaleas in Sejila Mountain run from the foot of the mountain to the top of the mountain from mid-April to the end of June. Go to Lulang Linhai in the afternoon. The snow-capped mountains and glaciers in the distance complement the virgin forests and villages nearby, and outline a quiet and beautiful Shan Jutu. Then go to bomi county to stay.

Day 7: Midui Glacier → Ranwu Lake

Depart from Bomi to the east in the morning and visit the Midui Glacier. There are spectacular ice waterfalls, forests, villages and glaciers. Then go to Ranwu Lake. Ranwu Lake, with a fresh mirror, is often rich in colors. There are grasslands, forests, autumn leaves, white waterfowl and colored pebbles on the shore of the lake. The lake is blue and the peaks are snowy and picturesque.

The second route: China-Nepal Highway 5-day trip The first day: Yang Zhuo Yongcuo → Sundin Temple.

Starting from Lhasa, we crossed the gambara Snow Mountain at an altitude of 4,990 meters and went to Yongcuo, Yang Zhuo. Here, lakes, snow peaks and blue sky blend together, making people linger. Later, I went to Sundin Temple, visited the only temple in the Tibetan inhabited area where a female living Buddha was the abbot, listened to the legendary living Buddha story here, and stayed in Langkazi for one night.

The next day, the site of Zongkangying in Gyangze Mountain → Baiju Temple → Pala Manor.

After breakfast, I went to the anti-British site in Shan Zong, Gyangze, recalling the scene of Tibetan compatriots bravely fighting against Britain and listening to the stories of those Tibetan heroes. In the afternoon, I came to Baiju Temple and visited the typical Tibetan Buddhist temple building combined with this pagoda temple. Then visit Pala Manor, the only well-preserved old aristocratic manor in Tibet, and then go to Shigatse to spend the night in the city.

Day 3: Tashilhunpo Temple → Sakya Temple

After breakfast, go to Tashilhunpo Temple. The cobblestone pavement at the foot of the Himalayas is decorated with walls carved by dry Buddha statues. The Panchen Lama has been built in tin, and the deep sacred atmosphere is self-evident. Eat near the temple at noon and come to Sakya Temple in the afternoon. The patchwork cottages spread out along the foot of the mountain to the plain, and the chic houses were arranged in an orderly manner. The quaint streets and lanes are also well organized, and you can feel the unique side of Tibet.

Day 4: Mount Everest Nature Reserve

After breakfast, go to Mount Everest Nature Reserve. Rongbu Temple is one of the best places to see Mount Everest. At the Everest Base Camp, you can also find the manager of the Everest Post Office, stamp his place with a postmark, and then leave postcards at the post office for delivery. After more than half a month, friends in mainland China can receive this valuable postcard.

Day 5: Xixiabangma Peak → Zhangmu Port

On the fifth day, after breakfast, you can go to Zhangmu Port, and on the way through Nyalam County, you can also see the majestic Xixiabangma Peak. Arrive at Zhangmugou in the afternoon, and finally arrive at Zhangmugou Port, where you can feel the altitude slowly decreasing from the snowy plateau, and gradually see trees, forests and waterfalls until banana trees, banyan trees and bamboo, and experience the strange journey all year round.

The third route: the first day of the 6-day trip of the new Tibet Highway: Sakya Temple.

From Shigatse, it takes almost half a day to reach Saga County. After lunch, visit Sakya Temple. Sakya Temple has more than 40 building units, which is a magnificent temple complex and a representative building combining Tibetan and Chinese architectural styles. This temple is called "the second Dunhuang" because of its great artistic treasure and high cultural value. Spend the night in sagar County.

The next day: Yongcuo Mabian

Starting from Sagar County, passing through Zhongba, we arrive at Hall Township, where Yongcuo is located in Mabian, the holy lake. Mabian Yongcuo, which means "eternal and unbeaten Jasper Lake" in Tibetan, is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet. The natural scenery by the lake is very beautiful. Since ancient times, Buddhists and Catholics have regarded it as the "world center" of the holy land. As the king of the holy lake, Mabian Yongcuo is a must-see attraction even for ordinary tourists. Spend the night near the scenic spot.

Day 3: Gang Renbo, Qi Feng → Lhanag-tso Lake

Get up in the morning, continue to visit Yongcuo in Mabian, and then go to Shenshangang Rinpo Qi Feng. Gangrenbo Qi Feng is shaped like a pyramid and is often surrounded by white clouds, so it is difficult to witness its true meaning. The peak is covered with snow all year round, which is very visually shocking. There are also several temples around Gangrenboqi Shenshan, and pilgrimage teams from all over the country turn around these temples every year. Then go to Pulan and spend the night in Pulan County.

Day 4: Port Plank → Torin Temple

Go to the border trade market in Pulan in the morning. Known as the "land surrounded by snow-capped mountains", Pulan has been an important foreign trade channel in the western plateau since ancient times. Pollan's border trade market is probably the simplest "international trade market" that most people have ever seen. The operators are mainly Nepalese, selling spices, fabrics and jewelry from Nepal and India. After that, I went to Zada County and visited Torin Temple.

Day 5: Guge Dynasty Site → Zada Stone Forest → shiquanhe town

In the morning, first visit the ruins of Guge Dynasty. 1300 years ago was the capital of the Guge dynasty. The site covers an area of about 1800 square meters, and houses, pagodas and caves are densely covered with mountains, which is very spectacular. After the visit, go to Zadatulin. This is a rare large-scale soil forest in the growing period in the world, and you can also see spectacular sunsets. Then go to shiquanhe town.

Day 6: Ali Grassland → Ritu Castle → Bangong Cuo

Depart from shiquanhe town in the morning, go to Ritu County, and pass through Ali Grassland on the way. Then go to Ritu Castle. This is the site of the ancient ancestral mountain in Japan. It looks like Potala Palace. Although it has become broken walls, it is very spectacular. Go to Bangong fault in the afternoon. This is a strange lake with different salt content from east to west.
