Maintenance of green radish

Loose, slightly acidic and neutral sandy loam rich in organic matter is the best place for radish cultivation and development. It can be made by mixing rotten leaves 70%, red loam 20%, rapeseed cake and bone meal 10%. Change the basin every three years.

Green radish is a kind of negative plant, which avoids direct sunlight, likes scattered light and is more tolerant to shade. Indoor cultivation can be placed by the window, but direct sunlight should be avoided. Too strong sunlight will burn the leaves of green radish, and too dark will make the beautiful markings on the leaves disappear. Usually, green radish grows best when it receives scattered light for four hours.

Green radish likes high humidity and humid environment. At the peak of radish growth in midsummer, it can be sprayed to aerial roots and leaves several times a day, which can not only clean the dust of leaves, but also make the leaves green, reduce the temperature of leaves, increase the air humidity in the small environment and make the leaves grow better. Pot soil is wet. When it turns white, it can be watered. In winter, the room temperature is low, and the green radish is in a dormant state, so it should be watered less to keep the soil in the basin dry.

The optimum growth temperature of radish is 20℃-28℃ in the daytime and 15℃- 18℃ at night. As long as the indoor temperature is not lower than 10℃ in winter, the green radish can survive the winter safely. If the temperature is lower than 5℃, it will easily cause defoliation and affect its growth.

Radish fertilization is mainly based on nitrogen fertilizer, supplemented by potassium fertilizer. Before the growth period of spring radish comes, applying 0.3% ammonium sulfate or urea solution every 10 day and using 0.5 ‰- 1 ‰ urea solution as foliar fertilizer can not only meet the growth needs of radish, but also keep the leaves green and bright. Fertilization should be stopped in winter.

Usually, the propagation of green radish is by cutting and burying stems. Choose strong rattan, cut it into two sections, be careful not to hurt the air roots, then insert it into plain sand or cinder, with the cutting depth of 1/3, drench it with water, then put it in the shade, spray water on the leaves every day or cover it with plastic film for moisturizing, as long as the environment is not lower than 20, the survival rate is above 90%.
