Dongguan Street in Yangzhou is the most representative historical old street in Yangzhou. The listed wells on the street are bustling, and all kinds of businesses are booming. There are nearly 100 shops including Luchenhang, Youmifang, Fresh Fish Store, Baxian Store, Guadian and Zhudian.

Dongguan Street is the handicraft center of Yangzhou. There are many shops in front and back, all over the street, such as Fan Shunxing's umbrella shop, Cao Shunxing's old shop, Sun's lacquerware workshop, Thai Xiang's sugar workshop, new jade workshop, Donghouhe socks factory and so on.

Closely connected with Dongguan Street is Dongquanmen Ancient Block. These two streets have been merged for planning, reconstruction and development. In addition to the old shops, there are many historical sites and cultural relics: Puyi and Wang's small garden, Guangling Academy, Anding Academy and Yidong School, which were established earlier in Yangzhou, Wudang Palace in Ming Dynasty and Zhunti Temple in Ming Dynasty.

Dongguan Street has a relatively complete Ming and Qing architecture and a "fishbone" street system, which maintains and follows the traditional features of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The total length is 1 122 meters, and there are more than 50 places in the street, such as celebrities' former residences, salt merchants' residences, temple gardens and ancient trees and wells, including 2 national cultural protection units, 2 provincial cultural protection units and 2 municipal cultural protection units. This diverse and dynamic spatial pattern of "river (canal), city (gate) and street (Dongguan Street)" embodies the unique charm of Jiangnan Canal City.

Dongguan Street is also a tourist hotline in Yangzhou. The amorous feelings tour of ancient streets and alleys started from the west end of the street and passed through Puyi, Geyuan, Li Changle's former residence, Huashiyuan, Huyuan, Xiefuchun and other places, which became a new hot spot of Yangzhou ancient city tourism, and received 300,000 tourists during the National Day in 2009 alone.
