The literature contains the couplet "Jiangnan Jingshi Couplet·Shi Shui Yingbu": "The shape of the crown crowns China, watching the passing river, and the Andu is still like the Jiaqing stone; the clouds create a human realm, and the body travels in the paradise, and the expedition continues on the official career." The couplet. It reflects the historical fact of the reconstruction of this anchorage in ancient times and its important role in transportation. The existing Shishui Ikaribu was renovated in 1987. There are 223 steps in Shiding. Each step is made of two flat stones. It is divided into high and low levels in parallel, allowing two people to interact in parallel. Each step is 0.6 meters apart and the total length is 130 meters. In order to protect Dingbu from being washed away by floods, the river beaches on both sides of Dingbu are made of pebbles. Since 2000, four new covered bridges have been built, namely Nanxi New Bridge, Tongle Bridge, Wuyanling Covered Bridge and Buxia Covered Bridge. Dong Zhiji and Zeng Jiakui are well-known local bridge builders. They are often invited to build bridges outside Taishun County, including the Huangtuling Covered Bridge built by Zeng Jiakui in Quzhou in 2006, and Dong Zhiji in 2008. Qionghua Covered Bridge built in Sanyang Wetland, Wenzhou.
In 2006, Taishun Covered Bridges (***15 units) became China’s national key cultural relics protection units, and four other covered bridges were provincial-level cultural relics protection units.
In 2008, the traditional construction techniques of Taishun Wooden Arch Bridge were included in China’s national intangible cultural heritage list.
On September 30, 2009, the "Traditional Chinese Wooden Arch Bridge Construction Techniques" jointly applied by Taishun County, Qingyuan County, Zhejiang Province, and Pingnan County, Shouning County, and Zhouning County, Fujian Province were included in the list. UNESCO's "List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Urgent Need of Protection", the representative inheritor is Master Dong Zhiji from Taishun County.
Xidong Bridge, a stacked-beam wooden arcade bridge, is located in Xiaqiao Village, Sixi Town, Taishun County, Zhejiang Province. It was built in the fourth year of Longqing's reign in the Ming Dynasty (1570). In the tenth year of Qianlong's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1745), the list was relisted.
It was rebuilt in the seventh year of Daoguang reign (1827). The bridge is 41.7 meters long, 4.86 meters wide, and has a clear span of 25.7 meters. Xidong Bridge, which is in the Feng Shui mode of "general playing with lions", has "rainbow energy coming to the sky, shadows shaking the moon". There are 15 corridor houses built on the bridge arch, several of which are elevated into pavilions. The eaves and wing corners are flying, and the green dragon is circling around the ridge, which looks like it is swallowing clouds and spitting out mist.
Yuwen Bridge is located in Zhouling Township in the west of Taishun. It was built in the Qing Dynasty and is located at the gap between two mountains. It has a total length of 23 meters, a height of 4 meters, and a single span of 7.6 meters. It has 6 bridge houses, three pavilions, and a Wenmao Pavilion on the second floor, which is connected to a stone arch and wooden covered bridge. The arched bluestone is built in a half-moon shape and blends in with the surrounding ancient pines and streams. It is the most beautifully preserved covered bridge today.
Yongqing Bridge, located in Xiaxiping, Sankui Town, was built in the Qing Dynasty. It is a more beautiful covered bridge among the Taishun house-style wooden flat bridges. The bridge is 36 meters long and 5 meters wide. It is 5.2 meters high, with a two-hole span of 19.12 meters, 12 bridge houses and a shrine in the middle of the bridge. Yongqing Bridge is an outrigger wooden covered bridge with bluestone masonry piers and two floors of cantilever beams that intersect at right angles. It is paved with sidewalk bridge boards. It has 12 gallery houses and a two-story double-eaves pavilion in the open room with escalators inside. Up and down, the roof has high wing angles and an elegant and simple shape. It is a beautiful ancient wooden corridor flat bridge in Taishun County.
Xianju Bridge is located in Xianmin, northeast of Luoyang Town. Built in the Ming Dynasty, it is the longest wooden arch bridge in Taishun. The bridge is 41.83 meters long, 4.89 meters wide, 12.6 meters high, 34.14 meters span, and has 18 bridge houses. It used to be the main hub of Wenzhou Road.
Wenxing Bridge is located to the west of Xiaocun Town. It was built in the Qing Dynasty and spans Yuxi. It has a total length of 46.2 meters, a width of 5 meters, a single hole clear span of 29.6 meters, a height of 1.5 meters from the water surface, 16 bridge houses, and a stacked wooden arch bridge.
Xuezhaiqiao is located north of Sankui Town. First built in the Ming Dynasty, it is 51 meters long, 5.2 meters wide, 10.5 meters high, with a single span of 29 meters and 14 bridge houses. This bridge is long and steep, with a slope of more than 30 degrees at the bridge head. It has a simple shape and is included in "Chinese Bridges" The book "Historical Stories".
Santiao Bridge is the oldest wooden arcade bridge in Taishun. It is located on Hengxi River at the junction of Zhouling and Longxi Townships. Not far south across the bridge is Shouning County in Fujian Province. Therefore, the bridge was originally built with three huge logs across the stream, hence the name Santiao Bridge. The bridge is 32 meters long, 3.96 meters wide, 9.55 meters high, with a single-hole span of 21.26 meters. It has 11 bridge houses with a single eaves, and has a simple and elegant shape. It is this three bridges that raises doubts about the claim that Hongqiao technology was "born in the Northern Song Dynasty". It has been recorded that the three bridges are the oldest, and the old tiles were removed with the year name of "Zhenguan". Based on this, some people believe that the history of Santiao Bridge is older than that of Hongqiao in "Along the River During Qingming Festival". The three bridges we saw were rebuilt in the 23rd year of Daoguang's reign in the Qing Dynasty. There is an unsigned poem on the wooden railings of the Sanjo Bridge - "Dian Crimson Lips", which gives people an infinite reverie: "I often remember Qing, and laugh with you Yiyi. The mountains are green and the water is green, where are the human faces?" People are passionate...". Santiao Bridge is located on the junction stream of Zhouling Township and Longxi Township. It was named after the original three giant trees crossing the river. It was built on September 13th, the seventh year of Shaoxing (1137) in the Song Dynasty, and rebuilt in the 23rd year of Daoguang in the Qing Dynasty (1843). It is a stacked beam arch wooden corridor. bridge. It is 26.63 meters long, 4 meters wide, and 10 meters high from the water. It has 11 bridge houses, five pillars and beams in the open room, and butterfly-shaped lotus petal head arches on the capitals. The bridge has an earlier origin. According to Taishun's "Fenjiang Lu", old "Zhenguan" tiles from the Tang Dynasty were discovered during Daoguangjian's construction. It is the earliest bridge recorded in the county's literature.
