Looking for money-saving tips for a self-guided tour of Gushanzhai, Shidu, Beijing

Gushanzhai is located in the south of Qidu Village in Shidu Scenic Area. It is named after three isolated peaks. Among them, Dagushan (grandfather) sits and guards the cottage, Xiaogushan (grandson) guards at the gate, and Gushan (son) waits at the end of the cottage. Gushanzhai is the most famous grand canyon in Shidu Scenic Area, about 10 kilometers deep. There are many beautiful scenery in the canyon. The most valuable thing is that the creek on the roadside in the canyon is not artificial like some scenic spots, but is the gurgling flow of natural mountain springs. In the hot summer, the temperature in the canyon is cool, making it a good place to escape the heat.

This time I went there because a friend introduced me to it. He said that there is a very good farmhouse folk shop in Shidu Scenic Area and the owner is very enthusiastic. You can contact the owner of the farmhouse at the gate of Shidu Scenic Spot to avoid the scenic spot ticket of more than 40 yuan per person. You can also drive directly to the farmhouse in the scenic spot, saving you a parking fee of 5 yuan. The most important thing is that the quality of the food is much better than that of the restaurants on the ferry side, and the price is also slightly lower than that of those farmhouses. It sounds very affordable, and when you include the saved ticket money, it’s really worth it.
