Bingling Temple Grottoes were once as famous as Mogao Grottoes. Tickets need 300 yuan. Is it worth traveling?

For the grotto scenery, I believe that Gansu is the first thing that everyone thinks of. After all, there is the most famous Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes, and countless tourists come here every year. But in fact, in addition to this grotto, there is another grotto about 40 kilometers southwest of Yongjing County, Linxia. Although it is not very famous, this grotto has an important position in the history of Buddhism in China, and has a very high historical value. Once as famous as Mogao Grottoes.

This grotto is the Bingling Temple Grottoes. Many people may not have heard of this grotto, but it is widely called "China Grottoes Encyclopedia" because of its rich contents and themes. It can be seen how valuable the things here are, and you will definitely not feel sorry for traveling here.

The Bingling Temple Grottoes were excavated earlier and were an important part of the Longxi section of the Silk Road at that time. But I don't know why it's not very famous, and many people don't know it, so there are not many tourists coming here every year. But if you have been here, you will find that once you enter the scenic spot, the Yellow River is on the right and the beautiful stone forest is on the left, so the spectacular scene here is really beyond the general scenic spot.

Bingling Temple Grottoes, also known as "the best scenery in the world", are excellent places for geomantic omen. There are 183 caves, 694 statues and 82 clay sculptures, 80% of which are the contents of the Gelug Sect. Unfortunately, during the Qing Dynasty, some grave robbers took advantage of it and destroyed some grottoes, which caused the grottoes to plummet. Coupled with the long journey here, it is slowly forgotten by everyone. It was not discovered again until 1963.

But when it was discovered this time, the grotto was actually covered with bird droppings. In addition, after thousands of years of wind and rain, many stone statues here have been incomplete. The most iconic stone statue in this grotto should be Maitreya Buddha, which was devastated at that time, but after years of continuous restoration, this giant Buddha has basically recovered its original appearance.

Surprisingly, as a scenic spot, it is not well-known, but the tickets are not cheap, as high as 300 yuan, but the scenery here is still very good, and it is worthwhile to spend 300 yuan.
