which continent is the Middle East in
The Middle East is in the west of Asia and the northeast of Africa. Asia, once translated as "Asia Asia" and "Asia West Asia", is the largest and most populous of the seven continents. It covers 8.7% of the total earth area (or 29.4% of the total land area). The total population is about 4 billion, accounting for 6.5% of the world's total population (21).
most parts of Asia are located in the northern hemisphere and the eastern hemisphere. The dividing line between Asia and Africa is Suez Canal. East of Suez Canal is Asia. The dividing line between Asia and Europe is the Ural Mountains, ural river, Caspian Sea, Caucasus Mountains, Turkish Strait and Black Sea. East of the Urals and south of the Great Caucasus, Caspian Sea and Black Sea are Asia.
The mainland reaches the Bering Strait at Jerzhnev Point (169 39 ′ 7 ″ w, 66 4 ′ 45 ″ n) in the east, Tanjung Biya (13 31 ′ e, 1 16 ′ n) in the south and Baba Point (26 3 ′ e, 39 27 ′) in the west. It spans a wide latitude and longitude, and the time difference between east and west reaches 11-13h. The west is connected with Europe, forming Eurasia, the largest land mass on the earth.
introduction to the middle east
the middle east refers to the eastern and southern Mediterranean, a large area from the eastern Mediterranean to the Persian gulf, and most of western Asia and north Africa. The scope of the Middle East includes West Asia (except Afghanistan) and part of North Africa, which is also a sub-region of Africa and Eurasia. "Middle East" is a geographical term used by Europeans and Americans. It is still inconclusive at home and abroad about which countries and regions the concept includes, but it generally refers to West Asia and North Africa, with about 24 countries, more than 15 million square kilometers and a population of 36 million.
The terrain in the Middle East is mostly plateau, and there are high mountains standing on the edge of the plateau. The area of the plain is small, mainly distributed in the Nile Valley and estuary delta in Egypt and the two river basins in Iraq (also known as Mesopotamia Plain, the "two rivers" refer to the Tigris River and the Euphrates River), which are the cradles of ancient Egyptian culture and ancient Babylonian culture respectively.
The climate types in the Middle East are mainly tropical desert climate, Mediterranean climate and temperate continental climate. Among them, the tropical desert climate is the most widely distributed. Connecting Asia, Europe and Africa, connecting the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian Ocean, and Europe and Asia, the Middle East has been a transportation hub between the East and the West since ancient times, and is located in the land of "two oceans, three continents and five seas". Its strategic position is extremely important, and the competition for valuable fresh water resources and oil resources, as well as religious and cultural differences, has led to perennial wars.
