Yuncheng County is under the jurisdiction of Heze City, Shandong Province.

It is located in the southwest of Shandong Province and the northeast of Heze City, on the lower reaches of the Yellow River, with a total area of ??1,643 square kilometers. Yuncheng County borders Liangshan County and Jiaxiang County of Jining City to the east, and is connected to Juye County and Mudan District in the south. It is adjacent to Juancheng County to the west, and faces Fan County and Taiqian County of Henan Province across the Yellow River to the north. The longest length from north to south is about 44.39 kilometers, and the longest width from east to west is about 35.71 kilometers, with a total area of ??1,643 square kilometers.

In 1949, Yunbei County was merged into Yuncheng County and belonged to the Heze Prefecture of Pingyuan Province. In 1952, it was withdrawn from Pingyuan Province and returned to Shandong Province along with Heze District. In 1958, the Heze Prefecture was abolished and replaced by the Jining Prefecture. In 1959, the Heze District was restored, and Yuncheng returned to it. In 1967, it belonged to Heze area. In 2000, Yuncheng County was under the jurisdiction of Heze City until now.
