After the establishment of Huangshan City, due to historical reasons, three basically the same place names were formed, namely, Huangshan City (Tunxi), huangshan district (Taiping County) and Huangshan Scenic Area (Tangkou).

The predecessor of Huangshan City is Huizhou, Anhui Province, and now the seat of the municipal government is Tunxi, which is the political, economic and cultural center of Huangshan and the south gate of Huangshan.

huangshan district was originally Taiping County, at the northern foot of Huangshan Scenic Area, which is the north gate of Huangshan Mountain.

Huangshan Scenic Area (Tangkou) is the Huangshan Mountain in the sense of tourists visiting, so when tourists buy tickets to go to Huangshan Mountain, they must first find out where to get off. The difference between Huangshan City and Huangshan Scenic Area is nearly 7 kilometers.
