In 2023, the demand for international travel recovered strongly. While the global tourism industry is experiencing explosive growth, it also brings new challenges to the development of urban tourism. As one of the top ten summit forums held during China International Fair for Trade in Services in 2023, the 2023 World Tourism Cooperation and Development Conference was held in Beijing on September 2. At the meeting, the World Tourism Cities Federation officially released the World Tourism Cities Development Report 2022, offering suggestions and suggestions for promoting the development of world tourism cities and helping the global tourism industry to create prosperity again.

Taking 100 major tourist cities around the world as samples, the report sets 32 sub-indices and 6 1 constituent indicators, and makes a scientific and comprehensive analysis of the sample cities from six dimensions: urban popularity, industrial prosperity, urban intelligence, tourism safety, economic contribution and tourist satisfaction.
