2. It generally takes about ten working days for China citizens to apply for ordinary passports for going abroad. It takes about five working days to apply for a passport in an emergency. Applicants can get their passports as early as possible through online booking and express delivery.
You can only apply for a visa to go abroad if you have a passport. The normal time limit for visa processing is 15 working days. Some ASEAN countries generally report within 5-7 working days. Some European countries have a longer time and sometimes need to be exempted from visas.
Basic application materials
(1) Passport: original passport with blank visa page, passport photo page with validity of more than 6 months 1 copy.
(2) Visa application form and photos: a copy of People's Republic of China (PRC) visa application form 1 copy, and qualified color visa photos pasted on the application form 1 copy.
(3) Proof of legal stay or residence (applicable to those who do not apply for a visa to their country of nationality): If they do not apply for a visa to their country of nationality, the original and photocopy of valid proof of legal stay, residence, work and study in the host country are required.
(4) Original China passport or original Chinese visa (applicable to those who once had China nationality and later joined foreign nationality): If applying for a Chinese visa for the first time, the original China passport and a copy of passport photo page must be provided.

Article 9 China citizens shall apply for passports or other travel documents when leaving or entering the country. China citizens who want to go to other countries or regions also need to obtain visas or other entry permits. (two) the validity period is less than six months, or the validity period is more than six months, but there are materials to prove that the validity period does not meet the requirements of the destination country;
(3) Other circumstances identified by the Exit-Entry Administration of the Ministry of Public Security.

Article 17 The registered items of a visa include: visa type, name, sex, date of birth, number of entry, entry validity, stay time, date and place of issuance, passport or other international travel document number, etc.
Article 18 When applying for a visa, foreigners shall submit their passports or other international travel documents, as well as relevant materials on the reasons for applying, and go through relevant formalities and be interviewed according to the requirements of foreign visa authorities.
