Chongqing Tourism School is the first batch of public national key vocational schools, a demonstration vocational school built by the Ministry of Education, and a vocational education cooperation project school of the Chinese and Australian governments.

The school is located in the center of dadukou district Southwest New Town, covering an area of 150 mu, with various building areas of more than 50,000 square meters. The school has advanced facilities and strong teachers. There are standard plastic 400-meter circular track, football field, tennis court, basketball court, multi-functional gymnasium and professional training room. Complete teaching, cultural, living and sports facilities provide students with a good learning and living environment. 96% of school teachers have bachelor degree or above, and 15% have postgraduate degree. At present, there are more than 30 special and senior teachers, more than 70 "double-qualified" teachers, more than 60 professional teachers have obtained the titles of "special" and "advanced", more than 20 professional teachers have become national professional skill appraisers, and Australian experts have entered the school to participate in guiding teaching. Chongqing Tourism School has become a high-standard, multifunctional and modern comprehensive vocational education and training base integrating higher vocational education and social training.

The school is divided into secondary school, comprehensive high school and training department, and has more than 20 majors such as foreign affairs, tourism, cooking, economy and trade, secretarial, computer, advertising art and electromechanical. At present, there are more than 2,500 students and more than 3,000 students. The school has always been concerned and valued by the Ministry of Education and the municipal government. Since vocational education was founded in 1982, through exploration, reform and practice, the school has implemented a three-level management mode combining objectives with professional division, which has the characteristics of thick foundation, wide specialty and flexible module. Over the past 20 years, the school has trained more than 30,000 practical talents for enterprises and institutions, delivered a large number of outstanding graduates for various institutions, and enjoyed a good reputation in the social industry.
