Shaoguan is an ancient city with a history of more than 2,000 years. It used to be the birthplace of Shi Xiang culture and the hometown of Maba people. There are many cultural heritages left over from history and many scenic spots with ancient folk customs, which are worth exploring here.

1, Fengcailou

Cai Feng Building is located next to Cai Feng Road Postal Building, Zhenjiang District, Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province, with Wushui in the west and Zhenjiang in the east. It was built by Qian Yong, the governor of Shaozhou, in the Hongzhi period of the Ming Dynasty to commemorate the banning of famous officials in the Northern Song Dynasty, and was rebuilt many times later. Yujing is known as the "most elegant", so it was named Fengcai Building. The ink of Fengcailou, written by Chen Baisha, a scholar in Ming Dynasty, is flexible and vigorous, natural and elegant, carved into a stone tablet and hung on the gatehouse. The wind collecting building is about 22 meters high, with double eaves and blue tiles, triple eaves and a small dome in the middle. The whole building is magnificent, unique and magnificent, and it is a landmark building in Shaoguan.

2. Shaozhou Prefecture of Gong Xue

Shaozhou Official School (that is, Shaozhou Confucius Temple) is located in Cai Feng Road, a prosperous section of Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province, adjacent to Cai Feng Building, a landmark building in Shaoguan City. Shizai, Shaozhou official school was founded in Jingdezhen in the Northern Song Dynasty (A.D. 1006). It was destroyed by fire during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty and was rebuilt immediately. Since then, the Qing emperor Kangxi, Yongzheng, Daoguang, Tongzhi years have been repaired. Dacheng Hall is the only existing Ming Dynasty building in Shaoguan. Dacheng Hall of Shaozhou Official School was announced by the provincial general office as the fifth batch of provincial cultural relics protection units. Shaozhou official school was originally a group of magnificent buildings. Including Minglun Hall, Dongxi Hall, Dacheng Hall, Worship Hall, Zunjing Pavilion, Celebrity Hall and Xiangxian Hall, covering an area of nearly 10,000 square meters. It used to be the most important official educational institution in northern Guangdong, and its academic system was divided into two categories: literature and military.

3. Shaoguan Furong Mountain National Mine Park

With a total area of 2 1.7 square kilometers, Shaoguan furongshan national mine park is one of the first 28 national mine parks in China, which integrates geological disaster control, ecological environment protection, mining culture inheritance and leisure and sightseeing functions. Furong Mountain is a famous historical and cultural mountain in Shaoguan. 5. Nanhua Temple

Nanhua Temple is located on the bank of Caoxi, 7 kilometers southeast of Maba Town, qujiang district, Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province, and about 24 kilometers south of Shaoguan City. Nansi Temple is one of the famous Buddhist temples in China, and it is the birthplace of Huineng, the sixth ancestor of Zen Buddhism, who promoted the "Southern Zen Method". Nanhua Temple was built in the first year of Tian Jian, Liang Wudi in the Southern and Northern Dynasties (AD 502). After three years in prison, the temple was built and Liang Wudi named it "Baolin Temple". Later, it was renamed as Zhongxing Temple and Fashen Temple. In the first year of Song Kaibao (AD 968), Song Taizu granted Nanhua Temple and named it Zen Temple.

The five hundred arhats carved in the temple are the only five hundred arhats carved in the Song Dynasty in China. In the Ming dynasty, it was decorated with gold, and in the Guangxu period of the Qing dynasty, the 133 burning arhats were re-carved. 1936, when virtual cloud mage presided over the renovation of the temple, most of the woodcarving arhats were hidden in the stomachs of three 15-meter-high Buddha statues in Daxiong Hall. It was not discovered until 1963. There are 360 statues, of which 133 is carved in Qing Dynasty. Lohan 154 with inscription. It can be seen from the inscriptions that these 500 arhats were carved in the third year to the eighth year of the Northern Song Dynasty (1043- 1048) and were collected by the first disciple Yang. Donors include businessmen, craftsmen, monks and civilians, and craftsmen include Zhang Xu and Wang Baohe. Each statue is carved from a whole piece of wood, with a height of 49.5 to 58 cm and a diameter of 23.5 to 28 cm. Wood is dominated by cypress, with a small amount of nanmu, camphor or sandalwood. Each statue consists of a base and a sitting statue. These arhats have high artistic research value and are very precious historical relics.

Thousand Buddha robes

A thousand Buddha cassock is a rare embroidery handed down from the Tang Dynasty. Its silk base is apricot yellow and embroidered with 1000 Buddha statues. All the Buddha statues are sitting, meditating, introducing, stating and crossing their hands. The mouth, nose, eyes and bun are clear and distinct. Embroider the image with gold thread, then set it off with blue, light blue, scarlet and yellow lines, and then embroider the blue background light. Surrounded by twelve lifelike dragons. According to the research of Guangdong Museum experts, this cassock was presented by Tang Zhongzong to Master Huineng, the sixth ancestor.

The imperial edict of Wu Zetian

Empress Wu Zetian of the Tang Dynasty, in the first year of Long Live (AD 696), granted an imperial edict to Master Huineng, the sixth ancestor of Nanhua Temple, with a length of 140 cm and a width of 42 cm. It is made of paper, and the beginning and end of regular script are mounted with silk.

Other cultural relics

There are also bronze Buddha statues built in the first year of Zhao Di in the Northern Qi Dynasty (AD 560), satin socks in the Tang Dynasty, six ancestors' waist-dropping stones, Tieguanyin Hall in the Tang Dynasty, Buddha statues of the four great kings in the Ming Dynasty, wood carvings, five hundred arhat porcelain bottles in the Qing Dynasty, and the Hua Yan Jing, which is a remnant of the golden book in the Ming Dynasty, all of which have certain historical value.

Temple cultural relics

Luokeng Prairie is located in Luokeng, qujiang district, Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province. There are mountains, water, cows and birds.
