On December 31, in the luxury bar of the Mandala Golden Tower Hotel, Western tourists who were accustomed to luxury, Enjoying expensive American cocktails. But no one is celebrating the upcoming New Year because there is a terrible rumor: Eleven Americans on an art tour in the Kingdom of Lanna have mysteriously disappeared for nearly a week. The jittery tourists exchanged rumors with each other. Some said they were selling drugs, while others said they were kidnapped for offending the gods.

The missing tourists from San Francisco, USA, including four men, five women and two children, were last seen at the floating island resort of Bodhi Lake. In the early hours of the morning, the Americans and their Lanna guide boarded a boat to watch the sunrise. The trip is usually ninety minutes. But they never came back, nor their boat nor their boatman.

The lake is sixty-one square miles in size and is surrounded by mountains covered with pine trees, ancient villages and tomato fields. The terrain is extremely complex and it is easy to get lost. The eastern part of the resort leads to another area notorious for the heroin trade.

In the past, this area was not open to tourists because of conflicts between local tribes and the government...
