2023 PhD registration time and examination time

The doctoral examination is divided into spring examination and autumn examination: generally, the spring examination is held in March, and admission is in September; the autumn examination is held in October or November, and admission is in March of the following year. The doctoral examination is organized independently by the school, so the specific examination time is different in different schools.

Generally, admission brochures for Ph.D. examinations are released from June to October every year. Most colleges and universities publish brochures for Ph.D. entrance examinations from September to October.

The online registration period for the Ph.D. examination is from October to February of the following year; the registration period for the Ph.D. examination in most colleges and universities is from November to December.

The on-site confirmation time for the Ph.D. exam is from January to March.

The preliminary examination time for the Ph.D. examination is from March to April. Most of the preliminary examinations are held on the second weekend of March.

Special Reminder

1. Candidates who have not yet completed the "PhD Registration Form" (including two recommendation letters from vocational experts in relevant disciplines) must register online first to avoid missing out. Registration time and unable to participate in subsequent exams.

2. Candidates whose registration materials cannot be mailed on time due to the epidemic, please register online first, and contact the applying college to submit materials according to the college's requirements.

3. The grassroots unit on the "Doctoral Registration Form" for military candidates refers to the political department of the college's student brigade or division (brigade) level unit, and the grassroots unit on the "Doctoral Registration Form" for local candidates refers to The police station where you work or where you have registered residence. Fresh local students from the National University of Defense Technology will be reviewed and approved by their student brigade.

4. The electronic version of the supervisor’s signature on the recommendation letter can be used with the consent of the applicant.

5. Applications for in-service military cadres and civilian personnel must be approved by division (brigade) level units and reported to the Central Military Commission for record. The application approval form can be submitted during the innovation ability interview. Fresh graduates of the National University of Defense Technology can be processed by the student brigade.

6. Military candidates’ proof of physical fitness can be submitted during the innovation ability interview.
