The origin of tianmashan

The origin of tianmashan is that tianmashan is very extroverted in the southern suburbs, and Hu Lian, the main book of the Yuan Dynasty, is like a horse. Tianmashan is named after the mountain shape.

Tianmashan is located about 10 km southwest of Sheshan, and about 1 1 km from Songjiang District. Tianmashan was called Ganshan in ancient times, and tianmashan has steep terrain, with a ridge line close to the east-west direction and a mountain shape like a flying horse, which is now called tianmashan. Tianmashan is the largest mountain with the highest elevation among the twelve mountains in Jiu Feng, Sheshan, with an area of about 1.433 mu and an altitude of about 99.8 meters.

Tianmashan has a long history and rich humanities. In the past, it was a Buddhist resort and there were many temples in the Vatican Palace. Every year in March, the first and fifteenth days of spring, pilgrims climb the mountain to make incense, and the incense is extremely strong, so tianmashan is also called "incense burning mountain".

Among the many temples in tianmashan, the largest is the "Polygalae Temple". Halfway up the hill behind the temple, there is a Millennium leaning tower, which is called "Pearl Protection Tower". It was built by Xu Wenquan, a native of Hengshan Township in the second year of Yuanfeng in the Northern Song Dynasty. It has been 943 years. This tower has seven floors and eight sides and is more than 20 meters high. Although the tower is small, it stands tall among the mountains and is very beautiful. Due to the change of foundation, the tower gradually inclines to the southeast.

The tower body has been tilted to the southeast by 62 51'52 ",and the center of the tower top has shifted by 2.27 meters. The tower leans 6 degrees and 53 minutes, surpassing the leaning tower of Pisa, Italy, and is known as the "world's first leaning tower". In the twenty-seventh year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty, Emperor Gaozong gave five-color relics to hide in this tower, which shows its brilliance. The incense in tianmashan in Qing Dynasty was very prosperous, which was a great spectacle in Sheshan and even Shanghai.
