The second case: online application

To apply for an online Canadian visa, you need to log in to the Canadian Immigration Bureau in official website to apply:

Step 1: Log in to official website as a Canadian immigrant and fill out the questionnaire; (Click on CIC website to apply for a visa online)

Step 2: register GCKey account and fill in the account;

Step 3: Upload the scanned original application materials and the electronic version of paper photos online, and pay the visa fee 100 Canadian dollars online.

I would like to remind all applicants that it must be an electronic version of paper photos and a scanned copy of the original application materials, with media equipment. The simple understanding is that you have to take two paper photos without any modification in the professional Maple Leaf Card Photo Studio in China, and upload the electronic version scanned by the same scanner together with the original application materials. According to immigration experts, standard photos are passed quickly, and non-standard photos need to wait for a long time. In all these procedures, the requirements for two paper photos are so high that it is almost impossible for a general photo studio to pass. Domestic applicants are advised to go to the most professional Maple Leaf Photo Studio in China, namely Liyuan Photo Studio in Beijing. The photos of maple leaves taken there are well-known at home and abroad, and the pass rate is 100%, which will save a lot of time and money.

Step 4: Book a visa center and collect biological information. Applicants who are required to provide biological information will receive a notification letter (BIL) informing them that they need to submit biological information after successful online application. After receiving the BIL, you need to go to the visa application center to complete the collection of biological information.

Step five:

Please be sure to arrive at the visa center fifteen minutes in advance according to the appointment time.

Please bring your original passport, letter of appointment and letter of request for biological information.

After the collection of biological information is completed, you will receive a receipt to prove that you have completed your biological information collection at the visa application center.

Step 6:

Once the result of your visa application comes out, you will receive a notice letter requesting to mail your passport. If you are not sure whether IRCC sent it to you, you can check the progress update through your MyCIC account.

When submitting a passport at the visa application center, you need to bring the original passport and the passport submission notice.

The third case: delivery by post.

The Visa Center only accepts mail applications and remittances from applicants legally residing in China. The visa application center does not accept visa applications mailed from abroad.

The following is the process of mailing the application:

Step 1: Confirm the visa type.

Download the list of materials according to the determined visa type and prepare your own application materials according to the requirements of the list. After confirming that the required materials are complete, print the list of materials and sign it.

Step 2: The applicant will remit the visa fee and fingerprint collection fee to the designated bank account.

Pay Canadian government fees and biological information collection fees according to the instructions of IRCC website (if applicable). If biometric information is required, the fee for collecting biometric information is 85 Canadian dollars (single person), including visa application service fee and paper application assistance service fee of the visa center, but this fee does not include other services.

Applicants can pay online, and the Canadian visa application center will provide additional payment services. Applicants can pay in cash at the center. Please submit the Canadian government fee payment certificate and invoice generated by IRCC payment system to the applicant.

Step 3: Applicants can only apply by post through China Post (EMS).

When mailing the application form, please ensure that the package contains the following documents:

-A complete list of signature materials and application form (e-mail address /2D barcode must be provided on the fifth page of the main application form)

-Auxiliary materials

-Copy of remittance voucher

-A label paper (Chinese mainland) marked with a return address and postal code, and the center will send back your application results through China Post (EMS).

Step 4:

If the visa application center receives the application by mail before 13:00 on the same day and confirms that the payment is correct, the application will be delivered to the Canadian embassy/consulate general on the next working day. If the visa application center receives the courier materials after 13:00 on the same day and confirms that the payment fee is correct, the visa application will be sent by the visa application center to the Canadian embassy and consulate for trial the next day.

Please make sure that the bill of materials you provide clearly reflects the original documents you submitted. If there is any discrepancy, the center will contact you by phone and email in time for verification.

Step 6:

The center only accepts postal applications with accurate remittance and complete materials. If your remittance is wrong and the required materials are incomplete, the center will inform you by phone/email to explain the further process. The center will keep your remittance and materials 10 working days, after which we will return your application and remittance.

Step 7:

The visa application center will issue a receipt for the application fee, and the original receipt will be returned to the applicant in an envelope with its own address. At the same time, the application center will send the receipt/application number to the applicant, so that the applicant can check the application progress online.

Step 8:

If the returned envelope is not delivered and returned by EMS, the center will keep your application for 30 days, and then the center will hand over your application to the embassy/consulate general for processing.
