Wooden lamp castle

Muden Castle is the most famous medieval castle in the Netherlands. This castle was originally built by Count Floss V in A.D. 1280. It was originally a military fortress at the mouth of Fichte River and an important route to the Bishop of Utrecht. After being razed to the ground, what it looks like now is between 1370 and 1386, built on the original basis. The castle was once used as a court, prison and duke's residence. The castle is surrounded by a beautiful moat, with high walls and people on the arcade on both sides.

The layout of the castle is rectangular, with drum-shaped towers, and an internal courtyard is enclosed in the middle of the residential area, which embodies the French style of the Middle Ages. The decoration and renovation of the castle is full of artistic flavor, including the works of art and daily necessities of the famous Dutch poet and writer Peter Connellus Hofter, who lived here from 1609 to 1674. Vanilla Garden is also worth a visit. In the castle, you can overlook zuiderzee, which has become an inner lake due to the reclamation project in the Netherlands. The beautiful scenery is really charming. There must be a guide inside the castle.
